Quick update. I have now defeated Yharnam Queen and finally got the plat. Yay.
According to Mr Spenser, MS are hoping for vr to flop pretty much, as its something they don't really have a counter to as yet. And this just seems like an underwhelming compromise tbh.
MS have gone down the cloud computing road instead, probaby seeing vr as just another gimmick, whereas Sony seem to be taking it much more seriously, maybe they are onto something lol.
MS will be really salty if PSVR sets begin flying off the shelves along with PS4's. ...
@andibandit, do it, you won't be disappointed. Great little game, especially in co-op.
Need this game now. Disgaea 5 looks pretty awesome too.
Sony were being sensible really. Why spend a fortune on a new ip if it potentially could have been a flop? As it happens it exceeded expectations, without a heavy marketing push anyhow. This pretty much guarantees a sequel which will probably get better marketing next time.
Just common sense tbh.

@gibberish, you are missing the point. Having downgraded graphics for split screen multiplayer wouldn't affect the full screen single player experience at all. So if you never intend to play it split screen, then it wouldn't matter to you anyway. And judging by the comments, split screen mp seems to be a feature that a lot of people would enjoy.
So why deprive people who would enjoy the split screen mp if it doesn't affect your experience anyhow? Hmmm.

@martin, 'plus I dont even like Souls. Tedious' But some people, quite a lot actually love the Souls games and regardless of whether you like them or not, doesn't detract from the fact they are usually (DS2 is the exception, still good though) superb games.
Also the games you mention are probably too old judging by the criteria being used. Tbh there are a helluva lot of Nintendo games in the list regardless. Too many imo.
No.1 - Dark Souls. Great choice imo. Probably one of my most played/completed games ever. Not the greatest game technically, but as for everything else it's sublime.
With this and the Bloodborne expansion, my xmas will be complete.
Suppose MS don't have much choice really. The PS4 price drop in Japan will help to boost sales obviously, whereas one probably won't make that much difference to xbone sales.
MS are between a rock and a hard place in Japan.

@krib, so how come the DS3 beta is on PS4 first? The Souls series is pretty big in Japan and xbone is pretty much dead over there so there's no way DS3 is aligning with xbone any time soon lol.
So Sony wins npd again. I think this phenomena is called the snowball effect, and its got to the point where PS4 is outselling both of its rivals combined.
