So long as videogames have clear age ratings, they should be treat like any other form of entertainment. Too many people see gaming as a kids pastime and should be treat accordingly. Also the media is to blame with their constant demonising. Its ridiculous tbh.

Its not just the price tag, its also the cost of hardware to run the rift. Considering most people who own strong enough PC's are mainly PC gamers, are people who don't own the requisite equipment going to be prepared to pay the entry fee? At near $1500 Its almost prohibitive tbh so probably not.
Rift will probably be pretty niche, only really appealing to the hardcore crowd.

Open world maybe I'll give you that. But to say Witcher is 'epochal' in graphics/storyline over Bloodborne is just hyperbole. Good article. Unfortunately your no.1 criteria for Witcher is it being a multiplat. Plenty of exclusive titles have won goty, a game should be judged by its quality, not how many platforms it releases on. And as far as quality goes, Bloodborne wins goty hands down.
If anything could be considered 'gimmicky' its MS hololens tbh. That thing smacks of compromise. It has 'its the best we could do at the time' written all over it because MS doesn't have a proprietary answer to PSVR, so all they can do is hope it fails, much like their fans seem to do.

2016 is gonna be the year PS4 REALLY takes off. Really looking forwards to Horizon, Uncharted and PSVR.

Played the demo and its pretty good but not a great fan of the music. Had both Frequency/Amplitude on PS2, they were great, really addictive. Might have to invest.
