You buy your flashed console from the game stores... That way you still have your warranty from the store. They don't sell pirated games ofc. But modding the 360 isn't illegal from what I know. And I don't think it is in the rest of the civilized world...

Well what they need is full 1080p support. Once they have that there can be no great grafic-leap as with this gen. People are currently uppgrading to the flatscreen TV's with HD. And untill the next display technology comes grafics can't get much prettier so they will have to focus on other things.
So I predict that the 720 will come out with 2 gigs of ram and full 1080p support, blue-ray and be fully backwards compatible. That way it could complement the old cheap 360. Developer...

A console doesn't have the power to make a large scale massive deep RTS game. That's why we get these Starcraft (small) scale RTS games.

Better then CoD2/3. Flamethrower and "destructible" enviroment aside the one thing that got me is the 4 player coop. But it doesn't really have anything unique to add to the WWII shooters.

It's a love or hate kind of game. Some people won't understand it. And as it is saied "You hate what you can't understand".

This is a truly unique and a breath of fresh air into the gaming industry. Like Portal it's a new genre all together. And like Portal some people just won't understand what the game is all about.
The main thing they complain about is not knowing where to go and how to get there. And I think it's a problem with the user. You have to think diffrently from every other game you have played so far. Where an edge where end of the line etc.

The problem was that the DVD reader was on top of the gfx chip and not allowing the gfx chip to get a decent size cooling fins. That's why they added the heat pipe to a secondary cooling fin.
Now that HDD would generate more heat then the dvd player is rediculus.

Only thing that would be considered "better" grafics would be the quicker loading of high-res textures & pop-ins, prob less 1 sec diffrence though. Most prevalent in GoW 1 & GTA.
The DVD player is located directly on top of the GPU which is why they didn't have enough of a heat sink in the early models. And a DVD player does indeed create heat. Especially since it never spins down.
Removing 1 of the 3 heat generators in the 360, while the DVD player is the least of the 3, is beneficial.
The HDD does not increase the temperature inside the 360 since it is external.
