"If you are not into this kind of games"
Is it really too much to ask that gaming sites hire competent editors? I keep seeing stupid first grade grammar mistakes like this in way too many articles these days.
It hasn't had a devblog update since August of last year.
No, there is no Half-Life 3 announcement coming. JFC, every time a Valve employee takes a piss idiots think it means Half-Life 3 is moments away from being announced. It's not happening, guys. It's time to let it go.
I'm playing it on Xbox One X. It's perfectly fine. Stop trying to drum up panic or controversy for clicks.
This will force retailers to try and entice consumers in the long run or risk going out of business. Exactly the way competition is supposed to. This is the free market at its best.
Lol, what babies. I've literally never heard of this store until right now, so unless this is a big chain outside the US I doubt this is gonna cause MS any sleepless nights.
Hurr durr history is boring right bro?
So salty.
You're also massively underestimating how popular services like this are. Netflix, Spotify, WWE Network, to name a few, have all made massive amounts of money moving away from traditional "sell a disc, make a static profit" business models. There are more people who will try something like this than there are people who buy new games, and people who rent will be more likely to try something like this because 10 dollars for thirty days will always bea...
There's definitely such a thing as having your storefront be too open...

The same way publishers see incentive in putting their games on Games with Gold/PSPlus on release day. Doing that pretty much made Rocket League, and the guys who make the Van Helsing games have no problem putting their new games up on GWG right when they release. They might not get huge publishers to do this, but that isn't the intent right now. Phil even said in an interview today that it's up to the publishers themselves if they want to do this as well...
More people will be willing to pay 10 dollars to try out a new game than there are people who buy new games, and a lot of those people might stick around to check out the other games on the game pass. That's the bet MS is taking. And I think it's a good bet, especially since rental stores have been slowly dying out. And this way, they get 100% of the rental revenue, revenue they would never see before. Of course, for it to work, they need to have a consistent line up of new, exclusive...
@Marksub33
You don't seem to understand how a free market works. A company can be as greedy as they want, that doesn't mean people will buy what they're selling. And even if people buy the products, publicly traded companies might still take a loss due to their stock going down because of the backlash to their practices, which is what happened to EA. The free market has checks and balances and every single company out there has competition, so if one company doe...
Lack of innovation was never the issue? It was innovation nobody wanted that was the issue.
Except Netflix doesn't lock you to 720p or have framerate issues.
Oh my god! Being able to play brand new games for a limited time while paying a fraction of the full retail price? Truly this has never been attempted before in the history of gaming!
(in case that was too subtle, I'm talking about rentals. You know, those things that they do with the physical discs where you don't own them and have to give them back after a set period of time)
Also, literally no one has forgotten about the original Xbox One revea...
Literally the only time "Netflix for games" has come close to meaning anything.
Oh my god. This is pretty freaking awesome.
As someone who hasn't liked a single mainline Mario 3D platformer since 64, this article is so stupid. Odyssey isn't nearly as great as people are making it out to be, but it definitely has substance.
And here we have another nail in the coffin of context.
I get very wary every time someone calls a story "important". More often than not that translates into "preachy attempt to push a viewpoint the author of this review agrees with".
