That's always a possibility. But it obviously makes the whole relationship thing with Microsoft completely meaningless. By their own words the time to exclusives would mean that Bethesda as a publisher had closer relationships with Sony before they were bought.
I think you're giving Xbox fans too much credit. Don't assume that they can think or see things clearly. They get giddy knowing that they're council of choice is having games finally that other consoles don't have. It doesn't matter if they had to outright by the IP and remove them from said console
@obscure
Your comment on relationships would make sense but then when you think about all the time exclusivity that Sony got for Bethesda ...
@abra
Sony is the market leader in console space so they don't actually have to be the highest bidder because they bring in the most money already. Developers just have to weigh their pros and cons when deciding whether to develop for multiple consoles or not and if Sony sweetens the pot with some extra cash that makes the decision even easier. It makes no sense for developer to choose to remove Sony as a platform to release on but it makes perfect sense for developer t...
If you honestly believe they weren't developing starfield for PlayStation, the console they make the most money on, then you are totally more delusional than I originally thought. Take that fanboyism a notch down and maybe you'll be able to think clearly.
At least get informed before making ridiculous statements. Sony owns aspects of the intellectual property of Spider-Man. Not to mention what's already mentioned by other users here. A lot more complicated than you think if you can think
Lol. This is just ridiculous. Didn't even check his information.
Except you forget development costs. On Xbox they've got to release on a underpowered next gen called series s. On switch it's even worse. They'd spend much time on optimization which costs money. And even then there would be performance issues. Releasing on consoles where there aren't any gamers buying your product makes no business sense.
Their games barely get marketed...that's why.
Not true. The state of the market is split between common sense and brain dead expectations and costs. Lower your costs and you can still make a good game.
Exactly. It's not a console war if it's already over. Hence why they want to buy up the industry. They're tired of being in last place and are jumping at the idea of locking games away from the competition.
Starfield being the first example.
Giving up???
You mean they wrapped up the story? Cuz thats one happened. Nobody gave up anything.
They're not rubbish just not great games like what we expect from 1st party at Sony.
You could miss out on either and them and it wouldn't be a loss.
Except there is absolutely nothing wrong with his statement. He doesn't want a deal to be struck because no deal is going to allow call of duty permanently available on PlayStation. There's also a ton of other IP that would be removed from PlayStation from the other developers. He prefers that all of these developers continue to make third-party multiplats.
That's in the interest of PlayStation gamers ...so if anything a new high because he recognizes the value ...
You watched John wick didn't you?
Funny how they're not buying up publishers left and right and yet you say they're scummy....lol
I'd say it's been quite fun watching Xbox insult its own fanbase and games. Xbox fans don't even have the backing from Xbox anymore. They said it themselves...PlayStation is the best place to play.
I wonder if maybe Sony has a problem with a deal that would remove 15% or more of their entire revenue....
Just a thought. Let's take away 15% more of your income and see how you take it. Remember not to cry.
Intersting thing to me is how they dont mention the platforms. Many times a developer will say that they cant wait for to get this released on "platforms" ...theyre written but not mentioned...obviously todd howard is wholly aware that starfield had been mentioned pre xbox purchase and the majority of their fanbase, being on playstation, was expecting the game...really wonder what Microsoft will do here when the game doesnt sell well on xbox...because it wont. If sony releases spide...
That salt is actually principle. At least sony fans still have some.
Actually interested in redfall...loved arkane games until deathloop. It releases near my birthday and before Diablo4...which means Ill have time to try gamepass for 1 month.
Theyre turning into a subscription service and the xbox fans are so happy about it...lol
