Now that i've seen the gameplay this seems sorta like a cash-on ala batman arkham origins. As in an unnecessary installment that keeps the franchise relevant while players wait for the next gen sequel.

Maybe because the majority of films that tackle these subjects are not poorly written. Maybe because video games pale in comparison to films when it comes to storytelling, characterization, acting, dialogue, etc. THAT'S why it's ok for films and novels to tackle these subjects. Video games are nowhere near as well versed in storytelling as films, we're barely ahead of comic book storytelling outside of an extremely short list of exceptions. I think they seriously need to expand on side plots and supporting character quest lines. And they DEFINITELY need to bring factions back. Because the side content in infamous outside of Paper Trail missions are pretty lackluster and play it way too safe. (Btw, who immediately figured out that the paper conduit is the first prisoner at Curdon Cay who killed herself according to the audio logs, if this is supposed to be some big revelation it's very poorly handled in the game)
