Instead they are keeping the profits from cutting out the middle man. They probably buy the headsets for $10 each from Jabra. Then sell the game for like $45 to distributors and chain stores. $45 -$10 =$35. Not to mention the money they save on storing inventory, printing the disc, manual, box and shipping. If they priced it at $30 I would have been a day 1 buyer. Now I'll just wait til the retail version drops in price or there is a sale somewhere. I played the hell out of the beta so I'm in no hurry to play it.
I think this is a mistake by Sony. $40 for just the download is very expensive. No headset. No resale value and no discounts available on it like you could find on the retail version. Bad move Sony. I'll be getting the disc version.
