As you can see, both GTA4 sold pretty much same(and still selling) as PS2 GTA versions.
All i know, that PS3 will be always a MUST HAVE console, because of games like GT5, MGS4, VC, LBP, KZ2, HS, DS, GoW3, R&C, U1, U2, FFXIIIv, HR, TLG.

Since, FFXIII is First Game this gen in Japan, which sold 1M on first day and probably over 1.5M on first week, and THAT on 4M userbase!
Now Japanese 3rd party developers will know, that on PS3 you can SELL games. And will announce much more exclusives for PS3!
And GT5 is not even released yet. PS3 will be UNSTOPTABLE!

And then for 2 year cost 40,000 yen, while PS2 only launched at that price, and within year got a 30,000 yen price.
PS3 got 30,000 yen price only after 3 years. And since the mass market price(29,990 yen), PS3 was outselling Wii in Japan almost WHOLE Autumn.

With bundles probably 1.2M and first week over 1.5M, GREAT!
FFXIII will sell A LOT!
And 1.8M is almost around 50% of attach rate. Well, current PS3 LTD sales in Japan are a little above 4M, but this week with FFXIII release, it can reach 4.3M. Still, they shipped 1.8M and that shows, that Square is confident in FFXIII and PS3.

But in term of sales, it will take sometime, before PS3 will be able to outsell Wii most of time during the year.
Though, of`course after GT5, GoW3, FFXIII, AGENT and other games releases, PS3 will have a better chance.
It`s amazing, that finally this time has come.

@Vivi, you do believe, that FFXIII LTD sales will be less than 2M in Japan?
Square is doing really stupid things. They should ship atleast 1.5M, which still would be sold in 1 month. So, what the point with those 1.15M on first day?
I hope, that when Square will see, that game is sold out on first day, they will ship more, than just 150k for the rest of week.
And just to think, that in 4 days FFXIII finally will be released. Wow.

You know, GREAT graphics add GREAT atmosphere to the game.
If great graphics wouldn`t matter, we would still be playing on PS2. The better graphics are, the better experience you will get(hint: Uncharted 2).

The sky in the end looked GREAT.
But to be fair, Uncharted 2 would/should win in MUCH MORE categories, than it did.
But then again, this would be bad for other games.
