I think the controls for ME1 were superior on the PC vs the 360 at least as far as driving the Mako goes. I bought the 360 version first and actually stopped playing because the Mako driving was so bad. Actually I think aside from getting use to aiming (by pressing a button) on the mouse the PC controls were superior for ME2 also. Although I never played the console version I did enjoy being able to hot key all your powers. Scanning planets was also way faster.

I've beat Enslaved on the PS3 and think it's a shame they went multiplatform with the Unreal 3 engine. I think their engine for Heavenly Sword was more capable. There were a few times in the game where I lost audio channels and the only way to get them back was to shutdown and restart. That coupled with poor framerates in places and everything feeling a bit clunky. Clunky is what you usually get with the Unreal engine especially if they don't put much polish into it. I enjoye...

I do think the ideal way to use Move for FPS is to lock the reticule to the center of the screen and use a button to activate the Move to look. That way letting go of the button would be similar to picking up a mouse. However and this is a big however this setup would only work well in a game that ran at 60fps. I think the lag introduced by the game running at 30fps may be too much. Have you ever tried to play a PC FPS game with a mouse that ran at 30fps? While possible it's wayy har...

Really? Kinda like the rootkit DRM fiasco that helped them stop piracy? In my book this is a similar mistake and I agree with the article in many ways. Every one on here seems to think nobody uses the OtherOS feature yet it's not unused. It may only be 1% of the older model install base but when we're talking millions of consoles that's still a lot of people. I think more than anything this is a sign that the Cell is dead. Sony is no longer encouraging people to play(code) with the Cell...

I was expecting tips and tricks like being able to stream avi/mov/xvid straight from the web browser just by clicking on the link. Or did you know you can save media from a website by pressing triangle on the link then going to file -> save target link. Did you know you can categorize your games/movies/pictures yourself. Or how you get your PS3 to download and install your new items before it turns itself off. Those were the kinds of things I was expecting.. Anybody have any other goo...

A really awesome puzzle game that I wish would come to PSN and XBLA. In the western world Puyo Puyo was rebranded Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.

I see Uncharted as the great action movie made into a video game. Alan Wake is looking like a Stephen King movie made into a video game. This latest footage raises my interests for this game. The previous footage really didn't do much for me. Perhaps it's not the game play mechanics I like but how they tell the story.

I already bought the game at launch for the 360 but could not force myself to finish it. For me it's a mediocre shooter combined with a mediocre RPG with horrid vehicle controls(I hear the PC version has improved controls). The graphics are good but the pacing was just so slow. After playing what I have of it I'm surprised how much some people like it. It must pickup after I stopped playing because I would give it at most a 7 out of 10. If it ever hits $5 on Steam I'll give it another sh...

It's pretty obvious you favor the 360 quite a bit. You may not think your a fanboy but you are. I doubt you even own PS3. I would bet you didn't even play those PS3 exclusives you are calling horrible and if you did you never gave them more than 15 minutes of play. You are set in your ways and when you hold a PS3 controller you feel lame. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I just wish people would not give that opinion until they've experienced titles they're giving their opinion on....

I'm pretty sure Linux support was cut for the same reason all other features were cut. Cost vs Use. Backwards compatibility was cut for cost. Memory cards where cut for cost. Even the movable ps logo was probably cut because of cost. People are demanding price cut and that comes at a price. Most people don't know but the OtherOS functionality had it's own flash chip. With it removed there's at least 1 less chip and all the extra stuff that was needed to support it.

Did not know one camera was infrared. I didn't see any infrared emitters so I assumed they were both regular cameras. It would seem they bought 3dv to protect themselves from lawsuits from 3dv.

I think they bought 3dv so they could corner the market on patents that cover controllerless control using true depth information. Natal uses two cameras to figure out depth information and 3dv used infrared light pulses. Pretty much the only two methods to get good depth information aside from laser scanning. I'm sure they bought 3dv for multiple reasons but one probably was so the competition didn't. If the competition bought 3dv they could have quickly gotten up to Natal's levels and po...

I think people are having problems with the controls since there is no autoaim in this game. There may be a hint of lag but I bet if there was autoaim people wouldn't be complaining. They've also increased the deadzone to increase the area where you can make fine adjustments. The aiming in this game is not like other FPS's. It'll take a while to adjust.

Actually twisting would be used for steering in racing games. Twisting is more precise than using a stick and quick precise correction maneuvers are easy to pull off. Granturismo 1 and 2 supported the NeGcon which was the best way to play them if you didn't have a steering wheel. The only drawback to twist steering is not everybody finds it intuitive ie they usually mix up turning left for turning right. The only addition I'd like to see to this prototype controller is a scroll wheel. No...

Only way to play Wipeout IMO. I loved it so much I tried to plug my NeGcon into my PS3 when the new Wipeout HD came out but no joy. I would love to see this controller make a comeback.

Seriously he's just nit picking now. Does he not realize real cars have imperfections too. Different body panels almost never line up exactly to give a perfect seamless reflection.

When buying a 360 he also needs to take into consideration the costs of Live. Will he be willing to pay $50/year just to play a few of those exclusives online. Otherwise they'll just be simple rental games. There's no reason to own Gears 1&2 and Halo 3 if you don't pay for Live. He might as well just go over to his friends place and play through them there. On top of that if he already has a good PC he can already play the better versions of some of those "exclusives".

I completely disagree with you. It's the first innovative first person game since Portal. If you think the game play gets repetitive after 2 minutes then show me a game that doesn't. You learn the basic mechanics of a game and repeat and repeat. News flash but that's how games work. You call it a on rails trial & error game but often times there is more than one way to get from point a to point b so how can it be on rails. This game is about being fluid and fast sometimes this requi...

I think it's more likely it'll increase the risk. The added power requirement of the DVD drive only puts more load on the power supply so unless the external power supply is the root of the RROD problem this isn't going to help.

The root of the RROD problem is the GFX chip overheating due to inadequate cooling. What do we know about what causes heat in the gfx chip. 3D usage. What do we know the new dashboard uses? A complete 3D interface. This means the load on the gfx c...

The problem with this game is it has too many modes. People will play one mode that their familiar with and pass full judgment. Go back and play Cooperative mode. It's completely different from competitive.
