I'm just wondering what the point of this topic popping up and getting approved week after week is. Sure, maybe it meant something back in 2007, but seriously...
If there is anyone who can correctly tell us how many times this title has popped up on N4G since 2007, I'm sure the winner of said debate will see it fit to give you a prize.

Come on, game publishers have been gimping the PS3 games for years. This is just one publisher. I have no sympathy for the 360 on this one.
Does in not make sense to ANYONE to wait and see if the hardware proves itself this time around BEFORE buying into this? Microsoft e-mailed me right after the big reveal of the new Xbox, thanking me for buying the 360 and trying to get me to buy the new 360. I replied with a big "No thank you, I'll wait until your new toy proves itself" (I doubt that they'll get the message though). It was bad enough I got burned the last time around.

Seriously, it's WAY to early for any serious journalist to be carelessly throwing up these kind of headlines as we have yet to see ANY of the other conferences.
But I can say that it seems that most of the media could see that M$ tried to cover their worst showing in years with their money hat. It just made them look, wrong. For a moment there I didn't think anyone in the media fell for it.
I guess we know one journalist happy with his Free60.
Your saves and everything WILL carry over, because you'll do a full system backup before you swap out. Make sure however that you have a separate drive with enough free space on it to do your backup before you begin.
When I made my update, I read the warning they posted and my understanding was that the update was only necessary in order to use features like PSN or to play newer games. In other words, you're not forced to make the update if you do not use those things, am I right?
If that's the case, then I really don't see any of the PS3's out there being used for supercomputing needing to be updated. The only issue would be no future PS3 clusters, right?

It wasn't difficult or anything. I just found myself trying to push my interest enough to get through the story and just was not having ANY fun. Any fun that I had in the other games of the series (going on crime sprees, driving like mad through the cities) was just not there.
Sadly, I TRULY believe that game's Metacritic score was created through gaming politics and not the game itself.
As much as it pisses me off, Sony is only doing what any other company would do to protect their product. They gave us the ability to install other OS's as, you might as well say, a gift and we f'k it up.

I'm sorry, but someone telling me that lag is minimal doesn't even come close to outweighing a video that SHOWS me a full 5 frames of lag.
I understand what they are trying to say, but if it's the case of underdeveloped 3rd party shovelware, then maybe that's not the best game to demonstrate Natal. What they need to do is demonstrate a game that works properly.
SHOW me that lag is minimal, then maybe I'll feel better about it.
Even though it will span 3 discs, is supposedly the graphically inferior of the two versions and is apparently lacking some 15GB of data included in the PS3 version, the Xbox version will no doubt outsell the PS3 version.
Why?
Because every FF13 TV commercial we'll see leading up to launch will end with that green Xbox logo. While Sony ONLY seems interested in marketing its system, MS is marketing the GAMES on its system.

Sony's multiplat games benifit from Microsoft's marketing.
Sony's marketing strategy does great things for the PS3 but very little for its games.
Where in the NPD Charts did the 360 outsell the PS3 in December?
I'm seeing 1.36M for the PS3 and 1.31M for the 360 in the US.
Is that wrong? Is there something that I'm not seeing here?

You know...a boost of sales...from the faithful. As in, "We built you a brick. You stayed with us because of your friends list. We just bricked you again. Will your friends list buy you another box for us? We're on your side after all (^_^)"
MS can file a pirating suit against EVERYONE who takes action against them on this one.
Face it, you modded your box. You f'd up. They told you not to and you did it anyway. You took money from them, now they're taking it back. But they're doing it legally.

Listen, if you mod extra HD space onto your xbox, that's still robbing MS of the money they want to charge you for a HD. If MS wants you to pay X amount...

Selling PS3 to Xbox fans and changing their attitudes about the Playstation brand. How is that not what they were aiming to do? The only one actually doing any real expanding is Nintendo and that's because they knew they couldn't compete with MS and Sony in the market the way that it was.
Sony and MS both make consoles that sell to gamers. That includes AND is predominantly made up of gamers that own other systems (including Nintendo's expanded market).
