No, but during a worldwide economic crisis most people aren't going to want to buy a brand new console.
HD, that's what I'm thinking.
But here's an interesting scenario - what if MS throws a monkey wrench into the console wars and puts out a casual system like the Wii, leaving the PS3/PS4 as potentially the only "hardcore" system?
One thing I've always wondered is how the console war would play out if the systems were not released close together. For example, MS releases the next system in late 2010, but the PS3 gets a couple price drops and can still compete, so Sony doesn't release a new system until, say late 2013.
You could say MS would have a 3 year lead on Sony, but with that much time, could you even consider the systems to be in the same generation, considering how fast technology advances?
Do you really think the average PS3 owner knows that you can have multiple PSN accounts? Even if they did know that, would they care? Probably not. Most people just want to get online and play, not shuffle between multiple PSN accounts.
I would bet a large sum of money that the people with multiple PSN accounts are a tiny minority, probably less than 5%.
In fact, I know several PS3 owners that share 1 PSN account with everyone in their family.
Seriously, you should suggest that to someone who can make it happen. Not that I really care much about movie awards...
My take on the fall of cheat codes is that you used to have to buy a guide for $19.99 to find out the cheat codes, but now everyone can get them online for free, so they started charging to unlock content.
So you'll reach your bandwidth cap how fast?
250GB cap = 5000s / 60s/m ~ 83 minutes
Nice job, SCEE.
Yes, it is something to show off. Do you see any 360 games that look this good with no loading times? Didn't think so.
God of War was first and it's certainly more epic!
Aren't there only like 6 buttons on the Wii controllers? I couldn't imagine trying to play a FPS on the Wii.
Why should they have waited until after KZ2? It's not like people are going to say, "yeah, Killzone 2 looks good, but I'll just wait for GOW3." They're two completely different genres and GOW3 is at least 8-12 months away from release.
If anything, showing all these amazing games at once will get those on the fence to finally commit to getting a PS3.

"From that point, Asmussen stepped back and prepared to show off the first trailer of the game. The trailer, he stated, was a piece of work that had been completed last Fall, but the team had been waiting to fully unveil the entire thing. Everything within the trailer itself was "100% real," accordin...
Even if Seb is lying, they could do a server check for the version number and prevent all non-release copies from accessing the servers anyway.
At The University of Cincinnati: College of Applied Science, we used Second Life in our "Special Topics in Web Development" course. The main goal of the course was to research the benefits and usefulness of using something like Second Life for teaching or to otherwise enhance our education experience through collaboration.
The consensus between our class was that the ideas were nice, just not really practical for anything other than doing actual development work in Se...
Believe it or not, Dell.com has killer sales on the PS3 all the time. I don't know if it's still going on but I think last week you could get an 80GB for $299.
1. Remake FF7 on at least one next-gen console.
2. ???
3. Profit! ;)
yummy!
I thought my wife preordered the game for me weeks ago, but she apparently didn't. I forgive her.
Anyway, I went in to preorder it yesterday to get the code and I got the last one they had. Now that doesn't say much on it's own because I have no idea how many they started with, but I would imagine it's at least 100. And this is the least popular of four GameStops within 10 miles out in a rural area. (Yes, we have a Wal-Mart and four GameStops! They're cropping up like McDona...
