I think people's point may be the fact that its a sequel to the original Sonic games not a remake so it should feel like the original games, if not better. Definitely not worse as it does now. The core mechanic from the original Sonic games is gone which is why people are upset. Surely the fact it's running on hardware 20 years newer than the Mega Drive should have technically made it a better game, not made it worse?

Apple TV came out this year and Google TV isn't even out yet.
Also the 360 didn't have all these facilities at launch and needed time to grow, Google TV and Apple TV will develop and improve over time.

Adding multiplayer to a game franchise that's as old as this one is it a little bit pointless in my opinion. The first two games were fine without an online aspect so why the change of heart? I guarantee you that this game will not be one of those games you revisit time and time again in regards to multiplayer but will be something you try a few times in each mode, get bored and put it on the shelf.

mate, ANY piece of hardware can fail. Your PC/laptop/whatever might not RROD but it'll sure let you know when it's had a hardware failure.
The point they were making in the article is that with having vents on the device and obviously needing ventilation will those people who dont read the instructions slap it down anywhere and have the device fail on them.
It might not 'RROD' as such but i'm pretty certain there will be another way ...

when you play a hand held theres basically one position you look at it from... right in front of it, plus or minus a degree of two. i think they might have taken that variable into consideration.
