He didn't say NMS is the ONLY game like this. He said its a "pretty unexplored" genre. Pretty unexplored. Meaning we don't have many games like this. Sure there might be a few others, but its still a genre that has tons of room to grow.

I never played these games for the story.
But Diablo 3 was fine. Sure it wasn't D2, but it was still tons of fun once they got their crap together and got rid of the stupid auction house.
I would love to see them go back to all characters having a basic melee attack that isn't a "spell" type attack.

Even after they officially announced Diable 3 and Starcraft 2 it took damn near 5 years before they actually released.
But its Blizzard and as far as I'm concerned they release some of the highest quality games in the industry, so I'm fine with that.
I'm totally with you on this one. I've never played WoW (although this month's Loot Crate comes with a free digital download of WoW plus all current expansions, so i may give it a try).

There is tons of gameplay to be seen. Just because a lot of it is from trailers doesn't mean it isn't gameplay.
How hyped a game is has no bearing whatsoever on how good a game is.
The only thing about hype is that people work themselves up to impossible expectations that no game could live up to.
But again, hype is basically how excited people are. Look at games like Colonial Marines. Hype surrounded it like no other and it was one of the worst games ever made.

They can clearly remove pokemon from people's accounts, so one would have to assume they would also be able to add pokemon to people's accounts.
