Yep. Totally agree. IF Sony or Microsoft announce new stuff, at the most it will be slim versions with slightly upgraded internals to support VR. That's it. Everyone's just trying to build up the hype/marketing for E3 per usual. And it's working....per usual...because people are getting way to hyped up about this.
There's about a 0.5% chance of legit new hardware being announced. There's probably about a 60% chance VR versions are announced. But VR versi...

doubt it. If they DID do what the rumors are all hyping (which they won't)......they already have started the whole backwards compatibility thing with xbox one and xbox 360. Probably wouldn't be too hard to carry it over to a new console.
But that's beside the point.....because they aren't going to announce an xbox two any time soon.
I agree. Only one cycle of games so far have been released this generation. These new consoles will just be the VR stuff.....which I'm totally not interested in.
that's all these upgrades are actually going to be....or at least all we'll see at E3. VR bundles with slight upgrade consoles to support them. All this crap is just the rumor mill running on full cylinders to hype people for E3.

Nintendo has been behind for YEARS now. They don't really care about hardware performance or anything. They're more about "experiences".....pr oblem is....they haven't really created a good experience yet in my book. So they're kind of a joke to me. I'll always appreciate them in sort of a nostalgic way....but I've completely and totally lost all interest in them the past decade.

It won't happen and there's zero reason for them to either. Why would they give their new console out free? It'd be cool if they offered a LITTLE bit of a discount or something though if you traded in. Maybe like $50 or $100 off the new console would be a really cool move of good will.
I agree. Open world games are awesome in theory. They're very difficult to pull off though without having copius amounts of "dead space."
Witcher 3 is the game that has come the closest to feeling like I'm in a world that is actually alive....mainly because of the quality of the world design. Sound, level/world, and effects design are so crucial to making an open world game good.
On the other front, BF3 was the game that came closest to that...
Quantum break looks really impressive. Hat's of to them. Looks like it will be a top notch game.
I absolutely love the idea of open world games. But there's hasn't been a single game yet that's open world that I would say has nailed it.
Witcher 3 I think is about as close as it has come. I don't care how open a world is....it's not good unless its immersive. That's the hardest thing to capture. Very few open world games can pull that off.

considering that the 360 had 512mb of ram.......and the Xbox One has 8gb......THAT alone is a substantial upgrade. Well over 3-4 times as powerful. Don't remember the CPU. (don't think it's QUITE as big a leap but ya.) I mean....ya they're not like a revolutionary jump, especially when compared to the advancements in PCs.
But to say xbox 360 to xbox one isn't a huge jump isn't really true. That's a pretty massive leap.
