The decision was made to target 720p for this game because it is the happy medium for ALLLLLLLL the HDTVs that are out there. Why spend the time optimizing an engine for 1080p so a percentage of the userbase can brag about it when you can achieve 720p much faster and thus focus on what's important CONTENT AND GAMEPLAY.

See consoles have a little thing called a serial number. It's encoded into the barcode the store puts on the boxes. Console gets sold, stores computerized database (those are pretty common now) records THAT serial number as a sale TO A CONSUMER. That being said my son hasn't touched his 360 since he got into the MAG beta and started ranking up in Killzone2 multiplayer. This is a kid I couldn't bribe to pick up KZ2 a few months earlier.
Which actually makes a good observation. I think the "360 effect" has worn off on him and now see's the quality difference in PS3 games.

how is this surprising when the game had to have enough content removed to make A WHOLE NOTHER GAME just to make it run on the 360?
yeah that was pretty shocking when they revealed just how much they had to remove from the game because of space issues on the 360. SE should be ashamed and Sony should be calling their lawyers.

I think the real issue is delaying a game that has ALREADY been delayed to hell and back. We all know how the delays turned out last time.
