You asked for reasons why this might have happened.
You might like to consider that the EADD comprises of many different sectors which all may/may not contribute expenses to the bottom line and hence, reduce net profit(loss), in the face of steady revenue.

The xbox1 was hugely more useful when modded.
The xbox1 was the best console last gen.
For those who don't know, modding an xbox allowed you to save entire games on hdd, play movies without purchasing a remote, install emulators (mame, psx!), store movies on the hdd, etc...
It just made the whole thing about twice as useful.
Oh, and you could easily copy games, but of course i have never done that.
