Oh there you are, darkie.
Didn't think you'd be too far away... I am starting to think you don't have anything better to do. No matter.
Fact is, KZ2 sales are disappointing, given the hype, given the furore, given the fact it is an excellent game.
If you are honest, I think you'll agree.
Despite your 'take two' spin, you'll also have to agree that 'take two' made more money on the 360, again. Normal variance aside, only a fool would prefer to sell less so...
I am looking forward to seeing cryengine3 for consoles and Alan wake.
Who knows what else will come from third party developers?
The longer it's out and the more install base it has, the more developers will seek to publish content on it. That's just obvious!
Developers may also see the relatively disappointing KZ2 sales and wonder if the extra effort is worth it on ps3.
In light of all this, I have a funny feeling the 360 will be wowing and entert...
there is NOTHING official about this story.
It's just some guy talking a lot of hype.
No screenshots, no HD video demo. Nothing.
Just talk.
But yeah, it certainly gets hits from n4g'ers....
was to say:
Look here, I can Buy a BRAND name (apple) for $2000 with OSX
OR I can buy a BRAND name (SONY) for $1500 with MS Windows.
People cling to BRAND NAMES.
Hence a big Brand name, albeit at a cheaper price is perceived as better value by Joe COnsumer
In contrast, the same PC, *without* a brand name, would not be perceived as well by Joe Consumer.
would it be, perhaps, that you didn't like the quote?
Yes, that seems more likely.
no, no, no.
It's much simpler than that.
Here ya go, PS3, you've earned it!
Yes, very poignant, DS.
However, you forgot to mention teh ueber-KZ2 and said nothing of shipped/sold spin
;)
Wow look!
I got 14+ disagrees just for quoting the article.
Grow up, Children.
:(
lol... fourth place...
"...and in fourth place, ps3, placing just behind the ps3 in third place."
;)
well let's hope you're not one of the 400,000+ ps3 owners who bought their ps3 one year ago and statistically speaking, is getting the YLOD soon.
That would be ironic wouldn't it?
"a mere five months after I fell in love with the game, getting motivated to plough through what may or may not be a plethora of ill-designed and weakly implemented user-created levels hardly gets my heartbeat racing."
That speaks volumes!
Perhaps they need to do some soul searching.
Was their arrogance worth being in third place?
KZ2 is the best reason to own a ps3 yet.
With free DLC they had an opportunity to cement that game as the must have title for ps3.
Paying for DLC, does, in my opinion, degrade the overall KZ2 effect from what it might have been.
Nevertheless, MS has fronted up and given everybody a 3 year warranty and even extended that warranty now.
I suppose if you're a 360 owner, a rrod or e74 would be a massive inconvenience. However, this inconvenience would be fixed free of charge. Kudos to MS
The ps3, on the other hand, reports a 2% failure rate.
That is all well and good as long as one is not the owner of one of the 400,000 ps3s currently in circulation that will be a failure statistic and NOT ...
wow. that was some prompt damage control right there!
I wonder why it is then, that with "8 cores", we still have no voice chat?
;)
no, actually you missed the point.
My point was that last gen the ps2 sold more while the 360 had the undeniably technically superior exlusives.
but yeah. Spin away.
It has 1 disabled, yeah?
To improve yield, yeah?
The rest of the article raises a lot of important points, though.
but the ps3 version strikes me as being a teensy bit sh1ttier.
In other news: the sky is blue.
*shrugs*
LOL
isn't that the exact same scenario that was played out with the xbox1 vs ps2? (except a role reversal)
Yeah. is a bit ironic innit?
Certainly the 360 has a higher install base in the USA, but noone would have expected a RTS (on a console!) to sell more than the best game available on ps3.
This is amazing and altogether a bit sad for KZ2. It should have done better. Come on ps3 fans, what's wrong with you guys!
