However, I could have chosen to disagree, on the basis of the Freedom of Speech.

How could he be a sexist?
He loves women, unlike sexists.

Sexist hates women.

Basically, you're saying that if robbers break into your house, you don't sue them, you don't punish them, you just let them go, and you just buy a new lock, and that'll surely teach them to not come back to rob you again?

"I'd do a better job defending my house and let the police deal with it."

But that is what Sony is doing. Defending their house (PS3) better with firmware updates and letting the police and court deal with it ...

I would be in favor of the little guys, except in this case, the little guys are criminals.

I do not support criminals, no matter how slittle, big, or coporal they are.

You're all fogetting the whole point of Sony suing.
The whole point of Sony suing Geo and the hacker crew is not to stop the hacks.

No. The whole point is to make sure Geo and those hackers goes to jail for a very long time.

Jail... a place where bullies rule and we all know how bullies love to pound on the nerds. A perfect place for a nerd like Geo.

Hope the Professor get sue too, for stealing other people's works. He's a Professor, shouldn't he know more about the unethical-ness of stealing other people's works?

Unless, of course, that's how he got to be a Professor in the first place, by stealing other people's works.

You think that the Freedom of Speech grant you the right to steal other peoples's works, their private key, their private password, and their confidential information?

But then again, maybe that's how you got to be a Professor in the first place, by stealing other people's works.

It's the same as when Microsoft tried to trademark the word windows. Not the word Windows under the context of an OS, but just the generic word windows, you know, like Windows Washer liquid or something.

Sony does not have the right to tell you what you can and can not do with your PS3, however...

Freedom of Speech also doesn't give you the right to steal Sony's private key, passwords, and confidential information.

I would tell you to stop being an idiot, but you can't just suddenly stop being an idiot and become a genuis in an instant like that.

Stealing Sony's private key is.

For the iPhone case, hackers didn't have to steal any confidential information or private key from Apple. All they did was remove the DRM. That is legal.

In the PS3 case, they couldn't remove the DRM, so they resorted to stealing Sony's confidential information and private key and then they used the private key without a license. That is illegal.

I know the college system have taught you that freedom of speech and bla bla bla...

But what you are doing is blatantly wrong and illegal.

Stealing a private key and using it without permission is not freedom of speech. And it is not protected by the Constitution.

Again, Zombie, you can do whatever you want to your PS3.

However, you can not steal Sony's private key, distribute it, and use it without a license and without Sony's consent.

"Sir, u r a idiot."

No, sir, you are the idiot. A criminal rob you and you still want to hire him.

I rather hire some other hackers who are better than him. Remember, he didn't do sh*t. FailOverFlow did all the work and he just took the credit.

So I should hire robbers to break into my car to see how secure my car is?

"I don't see Sony getting very far with this..."

You are a troll. You don't see anything other than your own biased view against Sony.

Know what the court will see? The court will see to that Geo is put away for a very very long time, for stealing Sony's private key, distributing it, and using it without a license.

"Right now, it's legal [to jailbreak the iPhone]"

Yes. Jailbreaking the iPhone is legal. But Kavetit, that still has nothing to do with Geo stealing Sony's private key, which is an act of theft, and an illegal thing to do.

Modding the PS3 to use homebrew software is NOT illegal.

Stealing Sony's private key and using it without a license and without Sony's consent IS illegal.

Excellent. SCEE, instead of SCEA, will just sue them then.
