They cannot cancel it and then renounce it. Sony has kept quiet because that's the right thing to do. If they still have plans to release the game, there is no obligation or need from Sony to say anything until they can show something.

Dead Space 4 is not going to happen. The franchise is damaged and VIceral is working on Homefront and a Star Wars game, so they are busy.
For me, it would be fine to not have another Dead Space. EA ruined it with their stupid greed. Maybe some years down the line there could be a reboot, but this generation doesn't need more Dead Space.
It'll definitely look much better, however, the more realistic art style of the tech demo is what a lot of people is hoping for. Even if they don't use it, I am sure that whatever art style they choose will look great.
Story wise, it would be much better to have a realistic art style so that it could have a deeper, and a little bit more mature story.

I don't play battle mode, but yeah, I think it was a bad decision to make the mode in normal tracks. Battle arenas are definitely more adequate to play.
I think Sony might feel pressured to show the game. There's a lot of noise regarding The Last Guardian, which in turns translate to hype, so I think it would be a good move from Sony to actually show it. (If they are indeed working on it).

Yeah that's the issue with IGN. Not that they reported the rumor, but that they reported it as " Officially cancelled" instead of treating it as a rumor like everyone else.
The problem with IGN is that they report on these speculative rumors as facts. If you saw the story in other site, it would clearly state that is a rumor, but as you can see in the headline, they wanted people to believe it as true.
I am really praying that Zelda Wii U will be like the tech demo (or even better)!
Amazing game! I am having a lot of fun with it. It's great that you do win with skill with a little bit of luck, unlike Mario Kart Wii which you only won by luck.
This is a game that I wish it had DLC. I would love to see new tracks, characters and karts. The next MK will probably take at least 5 more years, so expanding the game with DLC would be great! I think Nintendo could do it right, without milking people, and giving good value.
What i am wondering about PlayStation Now service is that the games being offered. Will they only have PS3 games? Will they also offer PS1 and PS2 games?
Also, I think it would be nice if they also offer PS4 games. They could release PS4 games after some time on the market. I don't think they will ever release a game at the same time it is out, but just like Instant Game collection, they could make them available after 6 months or so.

Nintendo should rerelease the GameCube controllers rebranded for Wii U. They needed to do that on the Wii, but didn't, and now they have a great chance, and won't take it!
I don't know why, but I have the feeling that it will be released on PS4/Xbox One. Maybe it will have an E3 announcement ,and be released later than the PS3 version. A lot of people have told me that it is very likely to release on next gen consoles.

Remember that they haven't gone full production with KH3 until FFXV releases. So it will take 2 or 3 years to release (more likely 3, because we don't even know when FFXV releases, but assuming it will finally release in 2015, then KH3 would be releasing 2016 at the earliest)
