I respect David Jaffe like a respect Cliffy B. His honesty is commendable. I especially relate to him when he talks about why he decided to make his own game studio. I love how these developers are not console fanboys to the point of them not even touching a competing console to play. People, come on now. Anybody with half a brain knows that a vga cable gives you the highest resolution possible, and Microsoft is the only console maker that has made one available since day one. Honestly, who needs hdmi??? I guarantee you that none of you will be able to tell the difference between a television running hdmit, component, or even a vga cable for that matter. Hdmi is something that Sony overhyped, and is not necessary to enjoy "full hd".
I mean there are some people who are guaranteeing on this site that it will for sure not come to the Xbox. I just want to be sure to log in the day if it is ever confirmed that it will go multiplatform just to see the epic flamewars from then on. As much as some would like MGS4 to come to our Xbox, I could care less, other than to see Sony's response. Even though it would go on to becoming the best selling console of all time, the ps2's launch was less than stellar, mostly dues to no games worth playing. I know, I bought one and ended up playing ps1 games on it.
And btw, don't just assume that the Wii will surpass the xbox in sales. Nintendo is continuing to follow the same pattern they make with every predecessor they have. The games are slow to come. I mean Mario shouldve been a launch game, but just like Sony did, Nintendo hyped highly anticipated games that in reality won't see the light of day until holiday quarter or right on the eve of it. I myself like to feel like I'm really the character in whatever game I'm playing. And when I see instructions on the screen telling me exactly what to do, I feel as if I'm playing the game on training mode. I really feel that you should be made to learn how to get through the different tasks whether it's jumping from rope to rope or whatever else on you own because it does feel kinda childish being given on the spot instructions on what buttons to press. In fact, that is how it is with every other game out there. I'm sure that with DMC being a former PS series that most of the fans are PS, but because of the higher installed base of the xbox as well as the popularity of the IP, I'm guaranteeing you that more will sell on the X.
