I wasn’t a fan of Twin Snakes. The director butchered the character in the worst way. I don’t consider this canon at all.
But the texture work is subtle. It’s more in line of how I remembered Twin Snakes opposed to how it actually looked.
Weird. I just started playing Duke Nukem Megaton edition and saw that it was made by Devolver Digital. I wondered what happened to them and all of a sudden news about them appears on N4g.
I was the same way. It was all adventure/fighting games until FF7. It’s funny cuz I used to not care about RPGs at all, and after FF7, my eyes opened up to a whole new experience that I’ve been missing out on.
It’s been a looong time since I was this excited for Final Fantasy. It helps that 7 was my first experience with RPGs

Gameplay wise, I’m not worried. I welcome the new battle system for 7 just as I welcomed the RE4 style gameplay for RE2. Change is necessary. But I’m not a fan of this episodic release. It just means I’m prolly gonna have to wait a while until a “Complete” version of the game is released.
I’m glad that it’s dated. Makes it really feel like you’re continuing the Dreamcast classic
I understand why people would be upset. As a console gamer, if I backed this game for the, let’s say, Panasonic 3DO 4K, but it released exclusively (timed or not) for the Atari Ultra HD Jaguar, I’d want my money back too. Even if this is more about the distribution rather than console, I was backing something that wasn’t fulfilled
