Its funny we PS fans think alike. Yeah i know PS3 without a doubt will win again against x360. I was just beginning to doubt weather it could catchup to the wii with the way it has been selling. I really do hope this is not a one off and the beginning of a trend. It's still a long way to go with at least another 80% of the market to capture.
Is it possible that PS3 could turn the tide against the wii in Japan?. I notice though that PSP is number 1 and that might have affected the wii sales. I notice that the wii significantly dropped instead of PS3 gaining.So Still not good figures for PS3 imo. MS on the other hand seriously need to do something if they plan to have future in Japan.
PS2 came out second before dreamcast and it went on to sell more than 100 mill. I did not say MS will stop after 2007 but lets face it. Apart from NGS2, fable, splinter cell and Geow 2. MS dosen't have any more established exclusive franchise that can compete with the likes of GT5, GOW3, Final fanstasy, MSG etc,etc. Seriously as yourself this. Which franchinses are bigger and more importantly which franchise would most 100 million PS2 owners care more about?.

as oppose to rushing an untested machine out. As they say. All good things comes to those who wait. Obviously if home is not good enough to be launch then it should be delayed. I would definately be pissed if they give out something half baked like the x360. Any PS owner knows that games are coming to PS3 and more importantly games that matters most to them that they want to play.

Gamecube = 21 million
Total = 162 million at most so minus say 20 million for defective and 2 or more purchases per person then.
Total = 142 million (under estimate number)

Just a friendly advice from a fellow PS fan. Just try to be a little bit more objective and less defensive. We all know PS3 will susceed against X360 so don't worry about what X360 fans say. Anyone with common sense knows that PS3 will win.
Yes it is funny that Toshiba is indirectly helping Sony with the format war since Studio support and PS3 are the main reasons why Blu is winning the format war.

But the 2 major ones for me.
1. Reduce price to compareable level to competition.
Although there is no question of the value you get for $499 with all the features that is packed in. PS3 is in the end is frist and foremost a gaming device more so than a media hub in most consumers minds. That imo is the reason why most people are having trouble forking out 499 for "a gaming" device which most were used to paying 300 at most for previous generation gamming consoles.

with regards to the 30% faliure rate i agree but MS is not new to the console market. Also note that the PS3 is still significantly more expensive than X360 and as most x360 fans are saying. x360 has more games and better ports so this still put PS3 at a disadvantage compared to PS3 sales wise.

Established franchise sells cause it already has a fanbase and it is know to other gamers as well. Do you think Halo3 would sell as many as projected if it is a new IP?. Now guess who has the most million selling established franchise from previous generations?. Here is a link to help you

Analyst that are saying that PS3 need to close the cap soon otherwise its going to be in last place this gen in my opinion are pretty shortsighted. for the sake of future X360 owners(myself included) that MS fix this problem. No 3 year warranty, just simply correct the mistake and bring the failure rate down to acceptable levels.

Thats what i was saying. Why people are saying this is Sony saying that we the consumers are dumb honsetly puzzles me. Sony packed alot of new tech in the PS3 and as a result it is more expensive than its rivals and the least they could do is inform potential buyers about its features which can't all be printed on the box.
