In the past ive been dead against this sort of thing as I was obsessed by physical copies and actually owning games.
But, even I have been swayed. Ive faced reality - and that is games are expensive and if I want to play them all I need to find other ways rather than buying them.
This service is amazing value and I welcome similar ones in the future.
Well I tried the alpha and beta and they bored me to death.
I let a friend (with very similar tastes) buy it first and he hates it, and ive watched streams and found them very boring too.
I'm not saying its a bad game, technically it was impressive. I was surprised how solid and stable the game was, the alpha was more stable than many final releases. But as far as tastes and opinions go it really isn't for me and I'm glad I didn't buy it. I very nearly did just...
So glad I passed on Destiny.
No games have disappointed me yet as I haven't bought into any hype.
Wolfenstein is my favourite game so far this year, totally unexpected and amazing!
So did Super Stardust HD like 7 years ago lol, so what?
(don't take my word for that I cant remember lol)
This is my most anticipated game this year. Excited!
Read it but still a little confused.
Lets say in a year there is a huge update to Minecraft, would the PS4 version still get it or will it be forgotten and left in the past?
"Needs"? Pretty sure they don't.
I have both sitting in my TV cabinet, they both work. They both play games. They both connect to the internet. They both run quietly.
I see absolutely no need for a slimmer version, except as a cash grab for each company.
@Mydyingparadiselost
You named your kid Sephiroth?
Do you not care at all about the amount of abuse theyre likely to get at school/throughout their entire lives for a name like that?
Personally I think its awesome, but people are A-holes...
Let me get this straight, because your beloved Destiny got mediocre scores you think numbers should be dropped?
But if it got 10/10 numbers would be fine, right?
I actually agree numbers aren't always the best way of scoring things, but not because I think Destiny deserves any better. A 6 is a fair score for an average game.
I'm new to Minecraft and I have to say those green fellas are terrifying when Ive spent hours on my house and find them on my perfectly crafted doorstep, ready to explode.
Barely scratched the surface? Within 4 days you could complete the campaign twice, play 24 hours in the crucible and 48 hours of side missions.
By that point id be dying of boredom.
The majority of people who like this keep saying "I'm usually just a single player gamer".
Well, maybe that's why you like Destiny so much, you don't usually play games in that genre. If you did you may feel it really doesn't match up, it does nothing new and its boring. But for you its all new.
I have to disagree.
I like most the things in the "If you like" list - but I found the Destiny Beta one of the worst games Ive played in a long time.
It was technically sound, ran beautifully and I cant say a bad word about its stability - it was more stable than most final releases, but my god the gameplay was so dull and boring! When you put the game into words on paper its great but playing it there was just no magic.
Imagine that, Destiny Xbox One exclusive - 6.5/10.
All these people saying "NAWW DESTINY IS EASILY A 9" would be tearing MS & Xbox Owners apart.
I'll stick with TLOU Factions until something worthy comes along!
I rate the beta a 5/10 and that was enough Destiny for me.
If you find the first few hours of a game so boring you'd rather rip your own eyes out than play any more then its obviously not for you.
Ive even tried watching streams since launch, and I usually really get into a good stream but my god - Destiny is boring to watch!
@Twilight_Sparkle
No theyre not, theyre rating it this way because it is fair.
It is not worthy of anything any higher, it is a mediocre game which deserves a mediocre score. Read the reviews - theyre totally fair.
3/5 is the same as 6/10. That's a terrible score for what was supposed to be the biggest game of the year.
Red Dead Undead, GTA IV Episodes, the Skyrim DLCS, Dragon Age Awakening...those are my favourites off the top of my head. Glad to see most of them in that list!
I dont get how kids play this.
Im 23 also, and I find it so hard. Takes me hours to make anything, and I dont have the stamina lol!
Plus it gets quite complex..
Buying games I spend about £100-£150 a month.
It would take 25 to 35 services at a similar price to Access to spend the same amount of money.
If each of those services had 5 games each, for £150 Id have about 175 games instead of 3.
There will never be that many streaming services, so I cant see it getting more expensive than my current situation.
@ramiuk1
Well its hardly DRM, youre not buying the game. You are...
