Gears of War was no a proven IP like Gears of War 2 is or say GTA.
I'm going to give a fairly subjective view from a perspective not taking consoles into consideration. I'd say Killzone 2 hands down looks more photo realistic because it does surfaces, and effects far better. As for Gear/Gears 2 is no slouch by any means, and does an insane amount of detail, but it's certainly not the graphically powerhouse it used to be by any means. They'll see a lot more than 10 or 15 mill. That 100 mill production coast "supposedly" had marketing, and royalties attached. A game like GTA doesn't have to pay as much out as normal games because they help sell systems compared to most games. They won't get all of that 485 mill still due to stocking fees, and who knows what else, but trust me they're getting a lot more than you just guesstimated I can tell you that much.

I doubt any of you would be arguing if neither was exclusive if you like gritty shooters that is. Unless of course those fruity disney power games are your thing then there's no hope for you.
I know it has a lot to live up to, but I see huge potential in the series, and I see a system capable of reaching that potential, and I see a lot of talented devs working hand in hand, Which means I feel pretty comfortable saying this game is gonna turn out just fine.

Anyhow there are so many more variations your allowed in doing futuristic games. It gives a lot of leeway to games that are still trying to be realistic, but at the same time trying to do totally new things. I think it's the best idea for the future of the series, although I'm not particularly a fan. Anything is better than another wwII game imo.

GTA has no variety in the missions nor was it fun the first time, the gameplay is horrible, and the story is about stupid wanna be gangster crap. I had no desire to beat the game, and was sorry I purchased it so I'd say it wasn't worth a darn.

Not true at all. I've seen these charts which are based on the average game, and certainly does not apply to every single game. Plus a lot of these fees were already factored into the development fee.
