I'm not only speaking to you in fact the GTA reference wasn't directed towards you at all. The only part that was referenced from your post was Prey.
As for your SR/GTA comparison I'd say overall things look much more realistic in GTA4.
The only recent IGN review I disagreed with was the one for GTA4, and not because of graphics, but every other score they gave it. Most cases I agree, sometimes I partially agree, and very rarely I disagree. I'd say thats a pretty solid record imo.
Your reliability just went out the window.
The metric is a low 6, and a few are rating it around an 8. Same thing happens with all reviews, where a few opinions differ.
In the end you should take this into consideration, but ultimately make up your own mind. It's my opinion that this game is just flat out bad, and the majority of reviews just reinforced my opinion. Also IGN is a source I trust in most instances.
I think Halo is extremely overrated, and just plain boring, but Halo is 10 times the game Haze is if only for dialogue alone. Haze is the most retarded cliched parody of the western soldier I've seen. One that only those with grammar comparable to Postedup could enjoy.

Again with the comparing this to old games. If they were to release Goldeneye today you think it would get the same high scores it did then or even if they were to release it 6 months later or 2 years such as Prey? Then on top of that, and this is coming from a person who dislikes GTA, but you're trying to compare a fps with levels to a game that spans an entire city such as GTA? Different types of games have different standards.

Why are you guys comparing this game to games that came out about half a year ago? Technology moves quite a bit a ways in that amount of time.
If a game got a certain score half a year before on graphics, and the graphics are similar ofc the rating will drop pretty drastically. This isn't rocket science people.
By far the best I played is RE4, but MGS4 should be number one as well for me once I get my hands on it.
The worst I've played is GTA4 by a long shot.

How is this even close to mixed reviews. If you see the metric score most scores were around 6, and only a few higher. Same happens with all things that get reviewed where a few scores will be different. Stop the denial already.
Haze has never been AAA. GTA, MGS, FF, Halo, GT, GeoW are all PROVEN AAA titles that a lot of none gamers have heard of and practically every gamer knows of. I have gamer friends who visit IGN once in a while, and they don't even know what Haze is. Besides this site most people who did know what it was expected it to be junk.
It's not disappointing if you expected it to suck.

AAA means a lot of people know about it, and especially gamers know. GTA, MGS, GT, FF, Halo, Gears of War are proven AAA titles, not Haze. I have plenty of gamer friends who visit IGN once in a while, and they don't even know what Haze is.
The reason being that this game is a cliche parody of the western culture, which they find amusing. It seems to fit in with their childish sense of humor, and cliched views of wester civilization.

I have judged for myself I didn't like it long before the reviews, but I gave it a shot with the demo, and thought it was horrible. Then I even watched all the videos of the completed game, and nothing has changed. But worst of all is the Dialogue is still the same, which is enough to make me not like the game. Its fine for those who genuinely like the game, but "best story ever?" With the cliche story archetype, and cheesy dialogue that seems like quite a stretch of the imagination...
