Until the streaming does not count towards your monthly broadband usage this service will not succeed. Also, its pointless on the PSP as there are not enough free wifi hotspots to keep the service going whilst you're on the move.
I agree with this score. Sure its no Diablo however, its a solid RPG that's actually fun to play.
If it were a full price retail game then I'd mark it down but 8/10 seems about right.
The Devs released the patch Steam would not let me play the game unless I downloaded the patch. I installed the game tried to run it and Steam said no, download required even though the game did not need it to run (I checked their website). So, in this instance Steam forced me to do what it wanted.
So, forced downloads, old interface, deleting my backup media content...um, thats more than one reason. You know, people complained about Internet Explorer being obtrusive and f...
Because, even though I have a good connection the patch downloaded at a slow .25mbps. I have never minded patches...but 7GB is not a patch. Its an entire game.
there was a 7GB install then a 7GB patch. The original game came without widescreen support. The patch resolved this.
If you're right then why did Steam force me to download 7GB AFTER the game had installed?
Read my updated comment. If I were to come into your home and delete all the content on your backup media would you still invite me back?
And how dare you say I don't know what I'm talking about. Just because we don't agree does not mean you are any more of an expert than I.
Steam put me off PC gaming and now its coming to the PS3...
Honestly, why does everyone praise Steam? Its so bloody obtrusive and one of the clunkiest interfaces around.
@Below:
Ok, tried playing Metro and Steam would not let me play until I had downloaded a 7GB patch! Its like that with all the games I have played on the PC in recent times. You can't play unless Steam lets you. Some games don't even let you play unless Steam can connect ...
Damn. That looked great. The Resistance franchise has yet to disappoint.
I dont understand why Sony does this to some of the beloved franchises. I was so hoping Heros on the Move had a proper campaign and was not just slightly better than average shovelware.
Did Sony learn nothing from their mistakes with the EyeToy?
Qriocity is pointless in NZ with the PSP. Not enough free Wifi hot spots.
If it were not for Steam I'd probably agree. But I hate Steam with a passion, especially after a recent incident using its provided game backup facility.
Having been a PSP owner since 2006 I'm not won over by the NGP yet. I simply hate the size, its lack of portability (cant slip it into your pocket with phones in) and having to buy more memory cards for video and music is just plain 2006 all over again.
I have no problem with scripted points throughout a game to help keep it moving as long as its not tightly linear approach to combat and problem solving.
I think it has potential however, Sony need to partner with ISPs so you dont get double hit for the music and broadband usage.
The only throne COD has is the one where woman normally moan because guys leave the seat up.
Honestly, after playing COD:BO MP for 10 or so hours I can't believe just how terrible it has become. Its a game for casuals who think they are hardcore because they play an FPS.
I clocked in over 100 hours playing KZ2 multiplayer. I got rid of KZ3 after a week. The camping in the game broke it for me completely. No strategy and teamwork any more, just a bunch of invisible campers sitting around waiting.
Visually its the best multiplayer game on the PS3 but it just isn't fun. It feels more like a chore than a challenge.
I agree that its not a big deal however, it does stand out like a sore thumb when you have a great lighting system. Its strange as all the other characters cast shadows except you!
Not many console games actually have a character shadow. I don't recall seeing one in the Resistance 3 footage.
The lighting effects look soooo much better this time around. Not that they were ever bad mind.
Happy to see the power bar making a come back.
Slighty off topic...
It feels more like a wake than a birthday. Honestly, firmware updates have been largely security patches in the last 18months, the flow of quality games has nearly dried up. I own a Go so things are even worse as you can't yet pick up many of the back catalog games on PSN.
PSN store in NZ for PSP feels more like the little corner store where the product doesn't change because no one goes there.
