I wish they would group all the repeating store items under a single regular items icon. Sick of the first 8 or 9 items being repeated week after week.
Not for me at all. Graphics were slick but nothing else about the game has advanced. Still no hit model, small rectangular pathway to play in.
I didn't expect the game to push the genre but it would be so nice if it had. Obviously this one is for those who are fans of the originals.
Well, I do have a choice. I can either get it for my PC, 360 or PS3. Now, I dont take my Xbox on-line because I refuse to pay for multiplayer so I wont be getting it for 360.
So, that leaves me with buying the superior PC version or paying more (yes more as PC games are generally $10-$20 cheaper) for the inferior PS3 version.
So, given a choice PC version is a no brainer. However, the game does not look like its worth the PC asking price either.
How will that work since the thing does not have internal storage? You wont easily be able to download new content for it unless they ship it on a memory stick with lots of additional storage. That is unless its all going to be cloud based.
Sorry, but the form factor and lack of internal storage put me right off. I'll wait for version 2 or 3 of the NGP before I decide.
Trophies and achievements don't inspire me at all. I'm not in the girl guides and don't feel the need to earn merit badges.
Now, if they put a benefit into getting a trophy/badge such as unlocking game content or DLC then I'd be keen.
Thats why I said if you had a choice.
I dont mind inferior graphics unless it means a hit on framerates. Its 2011 for f**k sake and still we get framerate issues.
Jaggies, framerate < 30fps, texture pop in, sync issues...all things that should have been put to rest years ago.
I managed to get my Dualshock working with the PC demo however, the multiplayer was nothing special and I'm unsure if I'll bother with this game on any format.
What it comes down to is if you have a choice then why would you get the PS3 version?
Obviously Crytek did not get as much out of the PS3 version as they claimed.
@Trroy.
Do you think the device will have mass market appeal? The mass market is just not about gaming anymore. So far the NGP looks like it caters to gamers only.
Well, I won't be buying one now. Honestly, the Go was such a great design and having built in storage has been fantastic. The NGP is a step forward in some ways but a step back in others.
I have the Go but don't know where I will Go from here. I use it for music, movies and games...the NGP looks more like a gaming only device.
I honestly think a 9/10 is just a touch too generous. Its a solid game but nothing outstanding. K2 had better on-line, if for nothing else because of the lobby.
The single player was great but again, I thought K2 was just a touch better.
For me its an 8.9/10. Overall it feels like a lesser product to K2 which for me was a 9.2/10.
Biggest negative for me is one aspect of the visuals. The way they swap more detailed textures into view is a...
Can you please explain why the game does not work for you?
I just could not get into Gears multiplayer. Main reason was the incredible lag, not sure if its better now or not. I remember times where I'd shoot someone point blank 3 times with the shotgun only to come out second best.
I doubt it would be like that now with a much bigger 360 install base in NZ and Oz now.
For me it was Gears that put next gen gaming and the 360 on the map. It was and still is an in your face experience.
What's your view of the Eyetoy for PS2?
That sold millions but most of the games sucked as well.
Regardless of what others may think I can see my kids loving this and I'll have fun watching them.
Sony's firmware updates for the PS3 really feel like they don't have a game plan. Over the past couple of years functionality gets released that feels half finished, minor cosmetic changes that initially made it worse and then now we just get more reactive security updates than anything else.
The update for Cloud saves is another good example. Good idea, although its nothing new really, but its poorly implemented unless you only have a couple of game saves.

I dont live anywhere near a place that rents out games. Well, the local video store does but only once you rent 20 movies. Can't remember the last time I rented a movie.
Pick up most of my games second hand. Like you, I wont buy single player only games. I certainly wont buy multiplayer games like COD:BO that retail for $140!
When you have to pay over $100 NZD for a game you have to be selective, especially in today's economy. I would rather buy games that score higher than those that score lower. Its not that a 7/10 means bad its just typically the ones that score higher are of higher quality.
To be honest from the videos and images I have seen so far that Crysis 2 is by no means a slouch when it comes to visuals on any platform. Does it represent the best visuals on any platform...no, but its by no means the worst either. One thing is for sure is that it seems to look better that COD:BO on all platforms. Go figure.
I for one am waiting for some reviews that go into this thing in a bit more detail. The demo was all that inspired so here's hoping for a rich ...
