A great selection and choice of games for this generations defining games.
I would say that Dead Space would be right at #6 if the list were a top ten.

What a terrible list of games and the author did next to nothing to back up his hatred for these games.
RE5 was a great fun co-op action game. Chris is my favorite RE character and RE5 improved on just about everything that Resident Evil 4 started.
Yes RE4 and RE5 are not traditional Resident Evil games but they are great action games.
The best old school RE games are REmake Gamecube , RE2 ,RE3 and RE0 Gamecube.
It looks as though Nintendo will yet again find themselves in a very strange place come the next generation of game consoles.
The Wii U is said to be "about 2x as powerful as the PS3". Thats not bad but does that mean that the Wii U will get slightly inferior ports of next generation games? probably yea.
As others have stated Nintendo has been low key on their online aspects for the Wii U and that will certainly play into their supposed effort to reclaim ...
Nintendo did not almost "die" as you put it. and most certainly not because of the Gamecube.
In fact the Gamecube still sold over 20 million units and the first Xbox sold a little over 24 million. Yet the Playstation 1 sold well over 120 million units and the PS2 over 140 million and still selling especially in places like asia and europe etc.
In case you forget kid Nintendo also has a very successful handheld market to rake in even more $$$.

My whole point is that there shouldnt be a problem.
No matter what the fanboys might say it is a GOOD THING THAT the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is coming to BOTH the PS3 and XBOX360.
The fact is that many traditional Playstation gamers did move over to Xbox360. not all but many did.
There will be a lot of Xbox360 gamers that will be very happy to play there favorite Metal Gear Solid games on the Xbox360 and earn achievements for them all while talking to their friends that will be enjoying the games at the same time...

The fact is that the only truly SCARY Resident Evil games are REmake and RE0 on Gamecube. those games had it all - great tense atmosphere , beautifully haunting music and excellent graphics.
Just cause the dogs scared ya when they jumped through the windows in RE1 back in tha day doesnt mean that the whole game was actually scary.

Silent Hill 3 is actually more horrific in many ways than the casual favored yet still great SH2.
The first Dead Space is the only true horror game this gen that scared me. While Dead Space 2 is a great game its just not scary its more of an action game than horror now.

Yes I do think that Resident Evil 4 was an incredible game and a necessary evolution for the Resident Evil series to compete in todays market. In fact I still play RE4 on my gamecube from time to time. I also consider RE4 the greatest action game of the last generation. NO kids that doesnt include RPGs and or games like ICO or SOtC those...

The PS2 was an incredible gaming machine.
So many great games from Metal Gear and Silent Hill to God of War and ICO.
The PS2 is second only to the Super NES as far as console gaming is concerned and even that can be argued by any long time gamer.

No matter what some so called Metal Gear purists say about the Twin Snakes it was a great updated version of the original MGS that was produced and overseen by Hideo Kojima and has his full approval.
I still play the Twin Snakes at least once a year on my trusty old gamecube. The graphics still look OK even today especially when compared to the now ancient PSone original Metal Gear Solid that would look absolutely HORRIBLE to the majority of todays gamers no matter how konami...
