Nice to see little boys and girls fighting over what's better. People have their reasons for buying what they buy yet people get so pissed off. The only reason EA is giving it away Fifa for "Free" is because M$ signed a deal likely costing M$ millions to secure.
3rd parties don't care if they piss gamers off with exclusive deals, timed deals or DLC. console manufacturers pay them a lot of money to secure those deals to try and entice gamers to buy their system.

Gamers are the dumbest people on the planet if they think loyalty or what consumers want are really in the mind of 3rd party publishers. Because, it isn't. That is what you have 1st party publishers for.

Well just like a month ago a board member of Sony wrote a detailed letter/plan to spin off the Entertainment division from the playstation brand, b/c Playstation is currently losing money while the entertainment division (Movie division) is making money. So this happens more than one would think.
But, when it's a board member that holds about 1% I don't think they will be driving the agenda.
Finally Ballmer has tormented MS ever since his unfortunate rise to power. He failed at nearly everything he set out to fail in. From handicapping Xbox One with horrible policies to a $900 Million dollar write-off on the Surface Tablet programs. The only possible good thing he could have done was acquire Skype and invest in 300K servers for Azure and Xbox services.

Besides he did say they will essentially look the same...For 3rd party this gen games looked better on the 360 esp. earlier on in the current gen, yet PS3 was more powerful. Just saying maybe people shouldn't jump to conclusions so fast.
By not including it they pretty much are. Kinect 2.0 will have 100% attach rate, which means companies will be much more likely to build games around it or add features supporting it.
PS Eye will have a much smaller user base prompting companies to be much less likely to take advantage of the features, b/c there will be a considerably smaller user base for the PS Eye.
Not saying it's a bad device, but attach rates do matter for developers especially ...
Most people already have an X360 or PS3 who really want one. It would take a pretty decent price cut to spur the growth again. There are only so many gamers in each country.
Once you hit a certain percentage of that group it will be hard to keep selling high volume numbers month after month.
Esp. when you have two new consoles about to launch.

Oh my Goodness... Nobody said a thing about Kinect 1 or PS Eye... So what is the difference w/ PS eye 2 and Kinect 2? PS eye 2 is still controller based...But it is a camera that "Listens" for voice controls, same thing as Kinect 2.0, but no controllers involved.
You can turn both on and off and control the systems with them unplugged if you wish. So what is the big deal and why is this limited to Kinect privacy issues when the PS eye does the same thing?

Well it's not really 1uping, but it is a nice feature b/c from what I understand is you can subscribe to it like Netflix. While the Xbox Verizon App you can't.

The headset packed in the PS4 looks like a POS. X1 actually will pack a real headset in their offering not some $h1ty inline mic earbud.
But, overall I actually agree with Element X a few posts above on most matters.
umm... MS invested in over 300K servers, pretty sure that is way, way, way more than Sony and Gakai have combined. Sony also will not have backwards compatibility at least on disc. so this would be doing something different by allowing disc compatibility.
I for one hope they do it and should have been an easy decision to make.

Not everyone buys games at launch or even buys them if their popular. I am married have 2 kids and a full-time job...So to find time to play games isn't always easy...
I don't care how long ago a game came out. If it's offered for free (No matter if I keep gold or not) I can download and get around to playing it whenever I find the time even if I don't keep my gold subscription.

MS is trying to take over living rooms so it wouldn't make since for them to spin off the Xbox. The Xbox is profitable and will sell millions of systems and games. Not to mention it is now part of the Windows echo-system. Which would even make less since to spin it off.
But, hell I don't sit in on M$ boardroom discussions and I don't claim to be an expert business man so I suppose it could happen. But, I don't think it will.
