Putting both side by side makes the lack of many special effects (lighting, rain, so on) on the Switch quite obvious. However, if I never saw another version, I wouldn't know and possibly not care about the difference.

Yeah! Good that they know it won't be as good as many want it to be. Making it an exclusive helps to determine whether it'll sell extremely well or be panned as a flop.

When the Classic NES came out, my son was 5... And that's when he started playing Super Mario Brothers.
I used Hakchi2 to put some educational and/or easy games (like Mickey Mouse Adventures in Numberland and Fisher Price's Firehouse Rescue) on it for my daughter.
