My favorite RPG battle "entry" system:
Lunar; it's like Chrono Trigger, but you can avoid enemies easier if you choose to. Plus when actually in battle, unit placement is strategic and not scripted or static (like Chrono Trigger).
My favorite actual "battle" system? Probably Legend of Dragoon.
I'm a sucker for QTEs. Seriously. I can play a full game of QTE sequences (hello Dragon's Lair 1 and 2 + Space Ace!)

Also, LOTR was a book trilogy before it was a movie. Books tend to be a bit different in that they need to spent a great deal of time describing events to you, and that wouldn't be feasible in one book (tome). Of course they needed to make LOTR 2 and 3 into movies; it was an established trilogy. Comparing books to video ...

Let's take one writer's (of many) opinion and apply it towards an entire site.

That's what I gathered from the article. The writing made it seem like "banned" is a joke; and that a lot of sequels are in fact good.
But of course this is N4G - people don't read the articles.
Great article. It would be sad to see a lot of sequels go, but we'd most likely get more original games. Imagine if instead of Ninja Gaiden 2 we got a re-worked Ninja game with Ayane. It would have felt more fresh.
