I loved David Hayter's voice work on the MGS games, I grew attached to Snake in a big way, and it almost certainly plays into my opinion that the series is the greatest video game series of all time. I have to stress this.
However, it was terrible voice acting. No, really. It is almost laughable how bad it actually was. It was more of a comedy impression of a generic tough guy and sounded unnatural due to the fact that it WAS an impression. David Hayter was basically putt...
I'd be very very suprised if gamerscore were to be revamped. Gamerscore is accessible and simple, that's why they chose it- they almost certainly went through various iterations and almost certainly toyed with a tiered system like Sony's trophies (it isn't exactly groundbreaking...).
The simplicity of gamerscore is the key argument of both proponents and opponents. Both systems have their advantages and disadvantages and both companies will stick with their ex...
I think this is a brilliant portable alternative and I'm actually planning on picking this up over its console counterpart...
You should check out Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. It ticks every one of your requirements- it is developed by the very people who developed Mass Effect, it is not an MMO and it is set 4000 years before the events in the movies.
Not only that, it is a fantastic game.
Your post seems almost comically ironic, but perhaps a joke has gone right over my head. EIther way, Knights of the Old Republic is seriously worth playing.
Fair play PSTriple! I'm keen to grab one after the next price cut, if only for Ni no Kuni...
I deny that Nintendo is in trouble right now.
Is Pikmin actually a launch title? I heard it slipped in 2013. Seriously bad news if true.
The other day I went into a burger restaurant. I asked the waiter- "Please could I have a burger? I'm hungry."
He brought my meagre burger out on stale bread, moldy cheese and soggy salad to boot.
"This is an appalling excuse for a burger my man, there's not a chance I'm paying full price for this. I'll go elsewhere to eat a burger" I said.
The other customers in the restaurant turned to face me, shocked and appalled at my behaviour ...
I, as a PC gamer asked for the game, Namco Bandai listened. I then asked them to not ruin the experience by exclusively offering the game with Games for Windows Live, despite it being made available through Steam, which will inevitably account for 95% of the game's sales and which itself offers a far more robust, unintrusive and reliable DRM option. Unfortunately, they haven't listened.
The game will sell less than it should have done for this reason, but be ready to ...
I feel that the same people defending the derivative nature of the video games industry in this instance could very well be the same people consistently complaining about the lack of originality in the games industry, should the situation require them to do so in order to defend their system or developer of choice (and of course, attack the competition).
The game looks solid and Sony has a large roster of characters to please everyone. They seem to have made a reasonable effo...
Yeah, this is worth getting excited for. Great art direction and a seriously solid voice cast too. It's a fair assumption that such actors would only lend their talent to a strong script.
Alan Wake was sublime. I would have loved to pick up Enslaved, but there was no PC release and I don't own a console for the time being. Love Alex Garland and I plan to pick it up sometime.
"PS3 is just as difficult to develop for for Bethesda or Naughty Dog, Guerrilla Games, Insomniac, Sucker Punch, Poliphony Digital or any other developer out there. They all develop for the PS3, so they all have to deal with the same problems, yet some manage to develop masterpieces and Bethesda still hides behind "PS3 is hard to develop for" excuses."
They never made such an excuse. They are doing PS3 players a favour by not releasing a product that isn...
Steam is a fantastic platform, all that is left to be done is for Valve to have some integrity when making titles available on their store. If Valve declined Games for Windows Live games and particularly uPlay games, the publishers would absolutely have to reconsider their DRM choices. I am glad Origin games are unavailable on Steam.
I unknowingly bought a handful of such games in the Steam sale recently and would have preferred them simply not being available. I regretted th...
You guys must be kidding- he's totally right. Cloud gaming's only advantage is hardware compatibility. Why on Earth would I cloud game on a console I invested so much in? Cloud gaming should be an inexpensive alternative to such an investment.
He isn't jealous, he's concerned that a market he helped to create may be going up the shitter.
I had no idea! Played and loved the game on 360. Definitely should have picked this up in the Steam Summer Sale...
Bioshock, Alan Wake or MGS4 with ODST coming up the rear. A remarkable generation!
Oh, and Braid.
Good story? You guys are in for a treat when you discover some truly great literature, screenwriting and acting.
Heavy Rain was a step in the right direction, don't get me wrong, but that doesn't excuse its heavy handedness, cheap, exploitative writing and wooden acting.
There are in fact many games with far tighter narratives, yet these narratives feed and stem from the gameplay. This is the essence of great game design. Bioshock and Portal 2 are fan...
Rookie mistake...
Well, I went from totally uninterested to very interested. They came out with game after game after game, so many of which were exclusives, new IPs and new announcements- it was the exact conference every console owner has been craving for years.
Honestly, I was expecting very little and what they gave me was one of the best E3 conferences I've ever seen.
EDIT: Just actually read the article to find I had accidentally quoted it, if that ain't MS brai...
