I wasn't expecting much out of it, either, so it floored me extra-hard - easily my favorite game of 2011.

True, and I want everybody to love Dead Rising, but I'll just never understand why it's such a problem. Seriously, all you have to do is look at the watch every once in a while. If you're feeling overwhelmed, just drop everything and mess around.

I'd rather they build on the Sandbox Mode from Off the Record (which I loved) than move away from the one thing that makes Dead Rising so unique.

And let me play as Frank, goddammit!

I was with you until you said "no time limit." It wouldn't be Dead Rising without time management.

Play Lost Odyssey.

IGN's review of the PS3 version says "9.5 - Amazing"

They say they're working on a story about this, but they should really take that down for now.

If I read their review, bought Skyrim and saw THIS, I'd be supremely pissed.

The author calls out Microsoft in the fifth sentence! Before he even mentions Sony!

Why do so many people always put the word "journalist" in quotations?

I wonder how much music this guy has illegally downloaded in his life.

I've seen this argument a lot lately.

When did gamers turn into a bunch of Joseph Lieberman's?

Mortal Kombat did exactly the same thing. One of the first things you see when you start the story is someone wearing the classic costume "DLC," and you could do Scorpion's classic fatality for free before they patched it.

I totally agree on waiting, though. It doesn't make sense to buy new fighting games anymore.

You can't walk into a store and buy expired XBL/PSN cards.

You can stab, shoot and blow people up, but you can't curse?

Fuck that.

I can't get into recent Final Fantasy games, with their crazy anime people flying all over the place. I'd hate to see them remake my favorites from the 90s' in that style.

Driver 3 is still the king.

"I want to play a game with a male character," is pretty much the same thing as saying, "I want to play every game."

I remember playing Mortal Kombat with my friends when we were 9. Believe it or not, it didn't turn us into psycho killers.

After the train wreck in Uncharted 2, he's coughing up blood and struggling to walk.

After wandering the desert for two days with no food or water in Uncharted 3, he's suddenly okay - same as he is at any other point in the game.

What was the point of the pirate ship bit?

Nate passes out in Yemen, goes on a completely unrelated sea adventure and wakes up pretty much in the same place he passed out. If they'd cut this whole sequence, the story would have been exactly the same.

Getting out of the sinking boat was cool and all, but the whole thing was so random. It felt like they were struggling to make the game an hour or so longer.

Raiders of the Lost Ark? I don't know about that. There's about a million things this game took from The Last Crusade, but the cargo plane sequence was definitely straight out of The Living Daylights.

There's a boat in the shipyard named "The Seaward" - there's an Arrested Development reference for you.
