i could see them selling the kinect for $79.99. the console right now is $500, so i can't see them dropping the price too much beyond that. since it'll be optional it doesn't make sense to decrease it too much~
it should have been an option from the start. i understand that ms was trying to market the xb1 as an entertainment hub, with the kinect being the center of attention, but had they made it separate from the start, more people may have bought the console and just waited a bit to get the kinect. i would have prolly bought an xb1 by now if it was $400, but that extra $100 is actually quite a big deal... like, that's a game and a lil bit right there(you could almost buy a year sub to onlin...
why would you include "no paywall" as a benefit of xb1? competitors have had this feature FOREVER and ms is the one who brought the damn thing into existence. i hate it when ANY person or company adds pointless "benefits" like that. thanks to ms, playing online is a paid service now... not having a paywall for basic online functions was straight-up robbery and now people are actually thinking it's this huge thing now that it's gone? it shouldn't have existe...

only difference is that sony's numbers are units SOLD and ms are units SHIPPED. big difference~
sony has over double the install base right now, so i'm pretty sure they're not too worried about some pre-order numbers right now. not to mention they have an over 80k lead with watchdogs lolz
still would like to have an xb1 eventually~ i played ps3 primarily last gen, and ps4 is my preferred plat this gen, but i still enjoyed some games on ms' consoles.
