Thank God Karen Travis is writing the story for Gears 3. I still refuse to consider Gears 2 canon or the fact it ever existed in the first place. Gears 1 was alright, good back story and they didn't stretch it emotionally to much. Which worked a lot better.
No Gears? That game is probably one of the most refined exclusives coming out this year.
The beta was incredible and made a lot of changes to the franchise since Gears 2. If you don't see that you're a moron or didn't play it.
Gears 3 probably will sell 10 million just judging from the amount of pre-orders.
1) Replay value.
This is a hard one to judge as neither game is out yet, but Gears is including a 4 player co-op. I'm still playing Gears 1 when I get bored with friends. And MP is just a whole new level of replay value. I've always found Uncharted 2 fun one or two times but it's pretty scripted so I know absolutely exactly what's going to happen.

Honestly. The story in Gears 1 is pretty good. Notice I said Gears 1, not Gears of war 2. Gears of war 1 along with the books and novels all contain an expanded and deep universe. Uncharted is a treasure hunter. It's like comparing Star wars to Indiana Jones. Thankfully Gears 3 is being written by the author of the books.

I'll be getting both. But I wouldn't be surprised how much of a punch Gears 3 pacts when it releases. All the features where getting plus a three year development time plus a new engine plus dedicated servers and near perfected MP will make for one enjoyable experience.
