I've been following Tidux for a long time on twitter. He isn't always right but he has seemed to get everything I care about right. He might just have some unreliable sources sometimes causing him to be wrong. It happens.

I agree as well! People play a teaser and say "NOPE" without keeping an open mind. Just because changes are made... this doesn't mean that Resident Evil isn't Resident Evil. In fact, people complain when games remain the same for too long without any improvement. This is how the teams responsible for RE try to progress and while some didn't like previous approaches... I fucking love that they are trying to take it back to a survival horror game / puzzle game like it used...
@gangsta_red, They have to find benefits for their service that make people want to sign up beyond just multiplayer. So yeah, It is okay for a teaser (more like a tech demo) to be locked behind a subscription service... It's like alpha gameplay.
A set of upgraded specs mid generation doesn't mean that they will suddenly reach the milestone Sony has reached. It all depends on the moves made from this point on but they've already said they don't expect to catch up.

@rdgneoz3 I agree but they would still have to go through a label to claim rights to this. Either way Utada or the label (Label will most likely be harder since it may be in the contract as well) before we can see these songs on any digital gaming platforms. If they wanted to continue having Utada in this game they would have to make a Physical only version of the game and Sony already told all developers that a digital version for every PS4 game must exist. I don't know about Xbox but it...
It's not Square Enix this time... Utada does not want her music on Digital Platforms without her consent which is why we don't have a Digital version of KH 1 or 2 on PS3 or PS4. Every digital version of KH has the song without her vocals. She has to agree to creating a new theme and allow the old themes to be on digital platforms before this will change and before she can be the producer and performer for the KH3 theme song.
It's not her contract... she personally doesn't like her music on Digital platforms last time I checked. That's something she decided. If it's in her contract then it was something she had added to "protect" her content and keep people from putting it on video and such without her consent. It sucks but it's smart... it forces people to still buy CDs.
If they can't have Utada... they should go with another Japanese artist.
but it's not up to Square-Enix... Utada herself doesn't like to have her music on Digital platforms if it's her choice. Square Enix would have to go through her label and in that case we wouldn't get a new song... we'd only get Simple and Clean or Passion / Sanctuary again...

While I'd normally say "I'm with you on this"... I'm not because I want to know how the story ends. Utada is in my opinion the only person perfect for the theme song but this video somewhat confirms something I've known about her music and that's the fact that all of her music must be on a physical platform of some kind and anything other than that must be agreed on by her personally... The only people that think the change is bad are those who are stuck in a sea of nostalgia. This is a good approach to take. Yes, it isn't what we expected when we thought they were taking it back to it's root but the moment I saw a PT designer on the design team I knew this was the direction they were going to take the series. As long as the game keeps me on my toes and keeps the puzzle solving... it will be amazing. You guys need to stop being closed minded. Silent Hill goes First P...
