This is even called the Pocket Controller for your convenience. Although if your wielding a 7-10" tablet, Im not really sure why you'd be overly concerned with pocket sized. Nonetheless, here it is:

Seems a bit meh irrelevant. If your going to pay the monthly fee to play FFXIV, 99% chance your already paying the monthly fee for psn+.
Hallow victory, imo.
" losing stock fast"
You mean selling out fast? That's not really losing stock...
There's no 1 size fits all perfect console/pc. All are flawed in different ways. Just have to weight the pros and cons.
"If I wanted to play mario, I'd buy a wiiU. Oh wait...I have a 3ds."
Under that logic, why do you own a ps3 or ps4 when you can just own a vita. Same flawed argument.
Releasing a game to win8 is not locking out win7. Overreact much?
And if said game relies on some form of cloud use, then obviously it is necessary.
Ive never heard anyone get confused as to whether its a tablet or not. I mean the picture right on the box clearly shows a console and the wiiu gamepad next each other. Dunno how it could get anymore obvious.
The real reason it's having some problems with sales are: the specs don't appeal to hardcore gamers, marketing, and the price is still a bit high for the casuals. WiiU sounds like it's doing some solid sales this holiday though.
This is very old news. They aren't BC because of the new x86 cpu architecture. Too much sacrifice in performance and/or cost would be have to made for BC to have happened.
One nice benefit to not having BC is that the price of these older consoles didn't bottom out, like they usually do with a new generation of consoles.
" I hate playing games on tablets for lack of physical pads and buttons."
You do know controllers have been out for tablets and phones for over 3 years now. Your a bit behind on the "latest" news here fella.

A mistake like how? As in ops I tripped and fell and gave the cashier $300 for the console?
@guitar
Then whats wrong with WiiUMR giving his gamer opinion? Lol although he was a bit emo about it, we all gotz opinions.
They do actually have several new franchises that no one cares to notice and then whines about not having enough franchises. Zombie U, Nintendoland (debatable I suppose has all the infamous Nintendo toons), Tank!, The Wonderful 101, etc. That's just to name a few on the WiiU, there are 100's on the Wii that people have long forgotten about such as I liked Conduit.
#1 Problem with hacks, they work...sometimes, other times not so much. Official drivers are far superior. Plus you have the problem of finding a website offering the hack, which often can lead to getting unwanted spam and spyware installed into your pc.
#2 If I want to play wireless, yes it is a problem. If I wanted a corded controller, that's what I would have bought.
"Want more? Go check its metacritic. I don't think this as a good parameter, but some do."
Metacritic score of 4/5. Seems very praised to me.

I disagree that people are mindless robots that cannot think for themselves. You can be influenced and persuaded, but obviously no one is a robot or there wouldn't be such a huge division between x1, ps4, and pc fans always flaming each other.
If at all possible, hold out until march for the NVidia 800 series to release. Suppose to be a huge upgrade. Or if your an AMD fan, Im sure they will have something to counter it with around that time frame.
@Major
Unlike consoles, your not married to any controller.
Options are what most people prefer instead of being forced into 1 controller design. However with that said, ds4 and wiiu controllers do not have official supporting drivers (up to sony and Nintendo to provide those), but there are plenty of hacks to get them anyway. MS fully supports the 360 controller (aka plug and play) on the pc and has announced pc support for the x1 in the near future.
4 versions is really a lot to you? Your brain must explode when you go to an ice parlor that offers 31 flavors.
Im not following the logic of Angry Birds pricing scheme. So it's free on android or ipad, but $30-40 on consoles....
By "place for all game genres" I assume you mean inbetween the hundreds and thousands that already exist in every genre on the pc?
I don't think you even game on the pc if you really think this is a new unexplored genre on the pc.
