This has nothing to do with commercial PS3 games or security.
A small change has been made to the way graphics commands are passed to the RSX in the latest firmware that breaks the current hack people are using is what has happened. There is no security hole being plugged.
The problem with vgchartz.com isn't that it is inaccurate, it's that it's not COMPLETELY inaccurate.
US sales numbers are fine since they are just the well known NPD numbers.
Japan sales numbers are fine since they are just an average of the two major retail samplers.

Lair has a absolutely amazing score - easily movie quality. And it has the wonderfully implemented Concert Hall in the extras/unlock section of the game.
But the game with best PS3 soundtrack, and one of the best ever in all of console gaming, is Folklore.
CoD4 has no business being on the list.
Everyday Shooter's music is amazing but it is a bit strange to compare it to other standard game scores.

Don't know what the hell CoD4 is doing on that list of choices - only 600p and a generic desktop pc engine.
Uncharted is obviously the king of the hill until KZ 2, MGS 4, etc. arrive next year.
Ratchet and Clank is on par with Uncharted but since Insomniac likes to focus on high amount of dynamic objects on screen and insane amounts of geometry per level they don't really focus as much on the things that most people associate with 'best graphics'
