The SNES could play voice samples without a problem. The NES on the other hand.. the Intellivision did just as good.
I guess I was lucky. When I first got a Wii (this last Christmas), one of the reasons why I purchased it was to research the unique game development. Every game on this list was recommended to me, along with Boom Blox, Metroid Trilogy, Chocobo Dungeon, de Blob, and various first party games. So.. I found each one of these games in bargain bins, quite sad. They are excellent games.

Does anybody know if this game has any enhancements beyond the graphics and sound? The lack of a save feature would be helpful. I see that there is a map feature while in tank mode (shows press - for map on top right of screenshot).

You have some really good points there, RealityCheck. The PC market has been quite complicated and that alienates those who do not want to deal with it. Somebody I know once compared it to shopping for a car, when completely ignorant on vehicles. You know what you want it to do, but you do not know the benefits of some of the newer tech and what brands are important or better. Companies like HP do not make it any better when they release a gaming computer with a really shoddy onboard videocar...
It is really nice to see Australia get something decent for a change. Maybe this was marketed as a subtle apology for previous game mishaps related to their horrid censoring. For all of the crap the Australians go through to get decent games, they deserve exclusives.
I agree with PC Gaming being a constant, but I do not believe consoles will go extinct. The console system will change over time, possibly become something different altogether (See Pong, then Atari, then Nintendo, then Playstation, then Wii, etc) and continue to keep market share.
A PC has something that no console has - ultimate backward compatibility and a completely open software market. No license required. Sad to say this, but I will probably be playing Diablo 1 for nostal...
I have been playing JRPGs since Dragon Quest (free with Nintendo Power!) and they are a great obsession. As much as I like the genre, since FF8 the series seemed to go downhill really quick. I have become incredibly picky with the games I play. I cannot stand the children save the world idea, I do not like most voice acting (Nothing like kids shouting 'GOOD JOB! WAY TO GO!' during all battle sequences), and the battle systems have become a complicated mess of combos and gimmicks.
As much as I would like to agree with you, Torchlight became stale to me after about 10 hours of gameplay. I wasn't finished with Hellgate London with multiplayer and looking forward to it.
Also, they seem to have updated it quite a bit.
I still cannot get over the touch controls. Sometimes it is just nice to use a control pad.
A genius move would be making touch control optional.. but this is such a typical Nintendo move, never seeing over the fence.
It seems to be quite obvious to me.
1. The graphics are horrible compared to current gaming technology. Just think, if a new DS comes out, it will surpass the Wii in graphics.
2. The controls are often forced and implemented incorrectly. Gaming studios should study control schemes a little more.

For some reason I am getting into the 2.5d games more now that I bought a big screen, they just look so much better than they used to on this TV. Maybe its just the model I bought.

This may be my observation alone - Miyamoto does not seem to like the underpowered Wii system, and his negativity towards it lately may be pressure for Nintendo to release new hardware.

We saw a post about this same thing three times already. Yes, the system has 16,000 downloadable 'things' upon launch, yes again to the system having 225 games to download. Do we need to hear this three times a week? This is not new information! Gettin a bit sick of hearing about the pspgo hype here on n4g - get out of Sony's pants.
It isn't so bad. I bear the first three levels in under 5 min of playing. Easy mode of course. It is all in timing, and less observed, more trial and error. If you are having trouble try running then pausing between the obstacles, then run again. Over time you will just remember where to pause.
I agree that hardcore gaming seems to come in waves of two or three great releases, but I wouldn't say that starcraft and diablo2 were the only two releases at that time which held up the great pc gaming battle flag.
When I look into the last two decades of PC gaming I see quite a few amazing releases, and I also see a lot of technical problems, bugs, and ugly releases. Compare this to the almost clean as a whistle console releases and its great SNES realm of mastery, and PC look...
