I purchased a Wii just recently, it took this long to find enough games to warrant a purchase (no bashing, I had to collect quite a few actually)..
.. however, this video reminds me of how the Wii was launched, but it was a heck of a lot cooler looking. A bunch of adults bowling or playing tennis looks so much better than these horrible embarrassing dances.
I believe natal will eventually have some fantastic games as well, but I hope they do not advertise the...
I know what you mean.. but there are different genres that others are interested in, which work better in a single player environment. Also, casual players may find difficulty if one of their favorite genres were forced into multiplayer or single player.
Interesting how things have evolved since the 80s. First we have games that we compete against eachother using the score number, then its all about completing the story, then unlocking things, now trophies.
Anything to get to add value to the surface of a game. Sometimes it ends up a bit flawed, like the multiplayer portion of Metroid Prime 2. They tried something new and it sorta flopped, even though it was fun for a bit.

This is really interesting since I am mostly a PC gamer, and since MH has been out for PC in japan for many years - why can't it be out here on PC? I couldn't imagine how good that would be. (and probably never will).
I also noticed that MH Tri is simplified a bit and easier to find items.

Oh and I have no online trouble where I am at. Maybe your internet connection is related to the problem. (intermittent connection or packet loss)
TWEWY was an experiment run by a division that barely exists anymore. They just fooled around and came up with something cheap to produce - for DS. Square spends all of their money funding games like FFXII and FFXIII, which both failed miserably.
I agree with the merger being both the end of good Dragon Quest games and Final Fantasy.
If only they would go back to the basics.. and leave the anime style.
I am a final fantasy fan, but I have disliked every final fantasy since 7 and refuse to purchase any after 10. I am now an ex-customer of Square Enix.
What was that about final fantasy fans eating it up?
You really cannot gauge the success of a company or game on the sales.
The point really is.. no matter good a company was, a company will change over time and may fail completely when trying to give the customers what they want in a newer generation. SquareEnix is obviously failing - right now they think that gamers want anime style games with mini-games.
Good news.. probably end up on steam.

Final Fantasy VII wasn't even their best game. The only reason why this game has been pulled out of our memories so often was due to the 3D fanboys and this hyped remake garbage.
Most of the awful cliches in gaming come from FFVII, and it didn't exactly make it look that good either. Let this game die in peace where it belongs.
Well.. this is certainly interesting. Normally at this time of the year I buy a good 4 or 5 games, but this year.. nothing except Monster Hunter Wii. There is a sharp decline of worthwhile titles that make me crave gaming. It really says something when I go rediscover some old game I have not played in a decade.
.. I am still sour about Circle of the Moon not getting enough recognition. To me, a far better game - better difficulty balancing, some real challenges that are completely optional, and the card system feels better than the AoS system.

I remember when Activision announced that their games were worth more than the normal selling price, and should be sold for more. This was a sign of things to come.. and here it is. Disgusting, but they know they have a resource worth gambling with. Very few things we can do.

You guys seem to be pretty thick. It is satire from the beginning, if you notice that, the rest should follow. Read from the first sentence - heck, from the title of the article. It is all obvious, and if you read it for what it is (a joke on the article about being the best game ever) you should be able to follow the rest. This type of article is a fantastic and hilarious way of bastardizing both gaming reviews and our bland typical review system, and I welcome it.
