The next console war is Sony's to lose, frankly. So many gamers have invested into PS4 and as long as they can bring those purchases forward to PS5 and PS5 is smartly priced, things will not change very dramatically. Cross play was just a fart in the wind.

Shifts in resolution can be noticeable immediately while playing the game. You'll need DF to show you checkerboarding in games. I wish checkerboarding or temporal injection, another great technique as mkis007 mentions, were available in PC games. Frame rate is more important than resolution or quality settings, but checkerboarding and temporal injection, as Sony first party games have shown time after time, are incredible compromises that deliver crisp clean images and help boost FPS....

I get "agitated" watching sports on TV or paying bills. There is a grand canyon between agitation and physical aggression. That is the part where you are able to "deal" with your temperament that makes you different from some a-hole who goes out and punches someone or worse.
Personally I wish they would use checkboarding instead of dynamic 4K. Just looks better to me if the resolution is consistent.
