Just because a cross-gen game has the same resolution (ignoring the huge list of other potential graphical enhancements the PS4 version could have) doesn't magically mean both consoles are now on the same footing performance wise.

Considering the immense sales the PS4 has over the xbone right now, the compensation MS had to provide to make up for the lost sales would be millions apon millions.

I mostly agree with the article. It's the same thing that happened last gen.
I bought a PS3 and had a moderately ok PC. I didn't have a lot of interest in Halo or Gears so there was very very little I missed out on.
Conversely, if I didn't buy a PS3 I'd be missing out on a lot.

Even though it's a multiplatform franchise, I personally associate Metal Gear Solid to the sony brand.
I don't know about anyone else, but for me gamescom is about games.
So for me the company that actually announced new games won.
