I think after playing MW3 for over 3 months, I can safely say that IW is dead. If you're ever going to buy another CoD game, even if it's used. Get a Treyarch game. I would say that the franchise's success now depends of them. I mean of course every CoD game out there will sell millions, but I think that Treyarch will always be the one to try something out of the blue, and they will be looked upon as the big guns for the franchise (pun intended).

The problem with MW3 is that it has set the world record for worst laid out maps in the history of FPS games, and gaming in general. Not only are the maps terribly structured, but they look really bland and stale. The environments for each map are all set in really boring and uninspired settings. Just a bunch of areas with a lot of rubble.
MW3 messed up on the aspect that everyone least expected. At least for gun-balancing, it can be fixed with patches. But maps? Too late on...

Homefront was a good idea, but poorly executed. The story could've been so much better and had great potential. Its as if the writers only did 5 mins of research on Korea.....

You're missing the point of the article. Its just that FF games recently have been crap. Maybe it's time to put all the resources into making one last resort game that actually doesn't have annoying characters like Vanielle, Hope, and Snow. And with an actual good story unlike FF13. Lets put open world and towns in it shall we?
Making GoW an FPS? First of all...why? Its perfectly fine the way it is. If they wanted to make a TPS of GoW, they'd have to add a cover system to it like KZ3, so I guess it'd be kind of cool.
I know this isn't a PS1 game but, I think Vanielle from Final Fantasy 13 was the worst voice acting in the history of gaming. I stopped playing the game all together just because of her annoyance. Thats how bad it was, and I'm a hardcore FF player.
Believe me, if BO2 ended up like MW3 as in just another modern military shooter, then I'm positive CoD sales would decline. But since BO2 takes the risk with a futuristic setting, that's what gets everyone's attention.
But I think the more fitting term is that "Does the future of call of duty depend of Treyarch?" YES.

I'm going to be honest here, I've seen a lot of footage and the game needs some serious polishing. Its weird because I think the graphics for this game look terrible. The colours look very stale which is weird because PASBR is on the PS3.
SSBB is on the Wii but the colours look much more vibrant than PASBR. Also the character models look and feel much better as well.
PASBR fighting and controls look very clunky to me.
Uncharted and Resistance does this extremely well and flawlessly. Uncharted because everything feels so real. Resistance because it's cool to see how a certain setting looks during an alien invasion set in 1950s.

I seriously hope everyone here doesn't think that Xenoblade Chronicles is a mediocore game. Believe me, its damn good. Unless you're not into JRPGs, then its fine.
But Darksiders was fun for me. Enslaved was okay, I just didn't like the artstyle and weird character designs.
I think they already have....MVC3 is very accessible compared to MVC2. And I agree with the person above, a new powerstone would be fantastic

I still prefer the Yoshitaka Amano art only anyday, but it'd be silly for me to pass on a fantastic game just because of the box art. Now I have a very strong feeling that FF4 for the DS will re release onto the PSP. Which is fine by me because that game is so good, I'll be glad to buy it again.
I would never want NaughtyDog to waste their talents on this franchise.
