I watched Alex's video and I didn't see it as being apologetic to MS and I'm definitely more of Sony fan than a Microsoft fan. I have encountered the issues light probe and image based lighting have on PBR materials when developing my own games. It flattens everything and it really sucks. Not having some kind of baked ambient occlusion really make the game look worse than last gen.

But one thing I think Alex didn't touch on is that the texture quality is jus...

Transformer Devastation was incredible. This looks like an iPhone game.

The amount DOES matter. There is no such thing has having too much data but having too little relative to the size of the total audience does definitely have an impact.

You must gather the data from your sample size relative to the predictive size of the total market and then you only know if you have enough participants if the data gathered passes a T-test for statistical significance. How many gamers are there that own each of the three consoles? So Nintendo: 50M + Xbox: ...

No I am not exaggerating. Games on Steam don't make money. EGS actually advertises and promotes the games on their game store.

Ok look this is going to be a case of your opinion against mine so I will leave this here for you and others to watch.

Game developer here. Epic Games Store is a godsend. I get that people are annoyed about the purchase of exclusives but EGS is absolutely allowing my little dev studio to make a game where we normally wouldn't make enough profit for it to be worth doing this at all. Also on Steam there is so much competition (iOS has this same problem) so its hard and mostly not worth it.

At the start of any game project you run a profit and loss analysis. The cut that Steam, Nintendo, S...

To each their own, but it looks like a poorly made iPhone game to me. Insert poorly written (annoying devil voice) and totally generic death metal electric guitars and well you get this. I especially love how his voice cuts out mid sentence and how every 3D object in the game is flat lit, and lacks any detail. Oh and the really poorly lit and generic hellish environments.

Yep. It needs to be pointed out this is Zoe's pattern. This video pretty much says it all:

You'd have to be more specific. Yes it was proven false that Nathan Grayson gave Zoe Quinn a favorable review for an objectively terrible game called Depression Quest AFTER starting a sexual relationship with her. But he did give her positive press (possibly to start a sexual relationship with her). No one can prove for certain what the reason was. However the other allegations against her are either unproven or proven true. Don't make the mistake of "all that" being proven ...

Ok I'll give you that. I stand corrected. I should rephrase to say, up until that point it wasn't something that happened.

If after reading all that you still believe Zoe, cool at least you have another perspective to consider.

Zoe Quinn is the reason GamerGate started to begin with. Her ex-boyfriend wrote a letter about how she slept with 5 different people (one of whom was married) to gain support for her game. The letter could be completely made up by a lover scorned but it certainly painted her as a pathological liar, a master manipulator and generally a terrible human being. This led to gamers wanting to know if favors were being done to help Zoe along in her career.

As gamers mostly on 4-Ch...

I guess, this signals that maybe game developers have run out of ideas? Derivative.

I watched it and respectfully, I disagree. It wasn't solid. Microsoft needed to come out guns blazing with a whole bunch of AAA titles. Instead we got, Gears 5, Forza and Halo. I feel like you can say that every other year with Microsoft. The best thing they showed was Cyberpunk. I own all the systems and I really wanted Xbox to crush it. They didn't. Also Sony seemed to have stolen their thunder prior to E3 with the PS5 specs announcement. I guess I just expected more. It was quite u...

You are right Fury is one of the horesmen (depending on the interpretation), but they did go out of their way to make sure Fury was a female.

Then it would be like every other movie and video game created since 2010 that thought they were so slick and progressive for making a "strong" female lead character.

1. Star Wars (movies)
2. Battlefield V
3. Mad Max (movie)
4. Ghostbusters (movie)
5. Darksiders 3

Just to name a few. That doesn't even get into how they de-feminized the She-ra cartoon. How the new Terminator movie looks to be practically ...
