What does everyone expect backers to say? Do you expect us to say, "Oh yes, we hope it fails and that there's never a game." Do you expect us to say, "Oh, CIG sucks, and they should be shut down?"
I know that they've mismanaged money, but there's already more than a tech demo here, and it's closer to life-like realism in graphics than anything else on the market. The ships are beyond cool to use and to fly. Sure it's taking forever, b...
It's a shame that more companies don't have the same attitude as them.
I'm not saying that I enjoy games like Sekiro/Bloodborne/etc., because they're really not my cup of tea, but clearly many people enjoy them. It's the attitude that games should cater to most players that has watered down the gaming experience in so many titles. I see a lot of this in MMOs (where are the true EverQuest and Ultima Online successors?) and also in the Battlefield series, ...
This is a a tough one. My favorites would include:
Super Mario World
Mortal Kombat 2
Gran Turismo 2
FFVIII
Disney's Magical Quest
Max Payne 2
Diablo
Goldeneye
Super Star Wars series
Battlefield 1942
Everquest
Yeah, they're all old, and the list is far from complete, but these are some of the ones that I have the fondest memories of. Ask me in 20 years time, a...
Aside from the server issues (and they'll iron those out), the biggest problem I see with the beta is the revives. Not enough time to get to people before they respawn, and no marker at all on the screen unless they ask for one (and even then it doesn't stand it enough). The uniforms are similar enough that I've found myself occasionally trying to revive a downed enemy.
To make it worse, they only give you 25 points for a revive. For all the talk about this game...
You may find, as you get older, that Nintendo focuses on one thing that gets left out of a lot of the PS/XBox titles: fun. Don't get me wrong, I have a PS4 that is my primary system, and I play on it every day, but sometimes I have to sift through a lot of crap aimed at the "older than ten-year-olds" to find the fun. Difficulty is not fun. Superior graphics are not fun. Sex/violence/mature content are not fun. Fun is in the game design: level design, and mechanics, and no one tr...
I'm thankful for my children, and I'm thankful for all the great games that they get to play, but I'm also thankful that they still like to go back and play the games that I grew up on.
When they slashed the price of the HP Touchpad in the US, they sold tons of them really fast.
I guess my point is that increased sales aren't always a good indicator that everything is going well. There are lots of other factors to consider.
Do I have to buy the console as part of a bundle? Are they throwing in other things to make the console more appealing?
We spend too much time looking at pure sales numbers. There are many other fact...
Our Walmart is stocking Wii U. They just got a bunch more in with Zelda or Mario bundled. They'd be stupid not to. I think parents aren't as informed as we gamers think they are. Many of them are going to look at systems this Christmas and say, hmm, I can buy a PS4 for $399 with no games, an Xbox One for $499 (again, with no games), or a Wii U for $299 with Mario or Zelda (games that even the most uninformed parents have heard of) bundled. I'd love to own all 3 (I haven't deci...
but it isn't a gaming article. Interesting read, but submit it somewhere else.
It'll just boost the sales if they do. I hope they make a big stink about it.
It's just my opinion, but that was the most awesome demo I've ever played. If the rest of the game is just as awesome, it would be a shame if it failed.
I'd like to see more of this style game...
I've never had an avatar before, but I think it's worth it for a chance at playing Star Trek Online. Looks like it could be a fun game.
Some of the comments on here are pretty harsh... I thought the article was a good read.
I think that the people who are saying that the only reason that people buy a console is because it has the best games are the ones who are mistaken.
There are a lot of reasons why people buy a console, and a lot of those reasons won't make sense to anyone other than the person doing the purchasing. To suggest that only one reason is the correct one is as bad as blindly saying t...
I'm not all that keen on talking to my TV... I want to play a character that I can identify with, but that doesn't mean I want to actually provide the voice for it. Also, the casual crowd is a lot more likely to have little kids running around. (They tend to make a lot of noise, something that voice software tech isn't going to like)
Of course, Mass Effect isn't a casual game, and that brings us back to controls for less casual games not being as good a fit for Natal.
Yeah, but they show you who shot you, so going prone wouldn't be that much of an advantage. It would just give you a little cover while you were locating your targets.
And you can blow away the cover too, so it just makes a lot of sense to add the ability to go prone. I never played BC1, so I don't know if it was there, but it isn't included in the beta yet...
I've never taken anywhere near that long to download something on my PS3... I'm not an expert about these sort of things, but sometimes there is more to it than what console/server you are downloading to/from.
I would say that I get fast downloads over cable modem 95% of the time at least, and I can't say any better than that for my PC, so I'm happy. I've also had no trouble watching rented videos as I download them.
You know what's sad is that most PS3s can't even do the yellow light of death. How sad is that?
I mean, in that respect, the PS3 isn't half a consistent as the 360...
It's not that the tanks are overpowered, it's that the teamwork is underpowered. The biggest thing that people need to figure out is to work as a team.
Tanks aren't that great if everyone works together to take it out. So, instead of using that bluetooth headset to broadcast South Park in came, actually try communicating a plan of action =P
Tanks should be really tough. I hate games where the tank's armor is paper thin and anyone can kill it in 10 seconds. If real li...
It usually takes several hits with the rocket launcher, and it's so slow to reload. C4 is definitely the best... almost too good, honestly.
@jukins Too bad I can't stand Eve, and it plays nothing like Star Citizen. At least compare it to Elite Dangerous.
Also, I guess if I've been robbed, then I've been robbed by the makers of every game I've ever enjoyed. If this is being robbed, I guess I don't mind being robbed more often. I hope they continue robbing me for some time.
