The bar is really high it almost feels like a double standard. PS3 exclusives got that rep.
should of made it a shooter with set pieces, and lots of hand holding those are the only games that review well these days.

Open World Games take more time to make then linear shooters.

Whenever MS gets around to revealing the Durango they better not center it around Kinect 2.0 it will be bad. Always online DRM, & No Used games would be the death knell.

Some New IPs that are not in the shooter genre would help as well. Diversity is good.
Lets see here SONY's fiscal year ends March 31, 2013, and lets say it stays at 77 million PS3s. (13 Million Fiscal Year.) Conservatively this is about what they should do in the next 4 years.

Yr 7: 10 Million (87 Million Total)
Yr 8: 08 Million (95 Million Total)
Yr 9: 06 Million (101 Million Total)
Yr10: 05 Million (106 Million Total).

And those are pretty conservative numbers being how the PS3 just sold over a million units thi...

I disagree. If MS presents a very casual system, with Kinect being shoved down your throat. Gamers will be jumping ship.

Likewise had PS4 been a very casual focus, people would be jumping that ship. Thankfully PS4 is looking to be a very gamer focused console. (What a novel idea). All that is left is PRICE.
SONY has put MS in a tough spot.

Option 1) Release Durango in 2013 with weaker hardware.

Option 2) Redesign Durango with a more powerful GPU & GDDR5 RAM, causing the system to be delayed to 2014. Thus giving the PS4 a 6-8 month headstart.

I think MS will just trudge forward with the weaker hardware, and spend more on advertising, and go for a lower launch price.
I could see a PS4 4K version coming out mid gen with a BDXL drive in it so you could physically buy 4k movies.
PlayStation has been a model of consistency.

With PS4 it looks like that trend will continue.
It is business as usual for SONY, they will have games for everyone just like PS1, PS2, & PS3.

Gamecube got all of those franchises it only sold 22 million systems. Gamecube was a lot cheaper too.
A system definitely made for the core, while at the same time fixes little issues that people had with PS3. All they got to do is get the price right, and they will have a very successful generation.
PS3 is coming for the #1 spot, and it deserves it. :)
