yeah totally disagree with this.
I like my PSP but I love my PS3. You just can't have the same gaming experience that you have with booming surround sound and a big screen.
I think also a hand held eliminates the social aspect of gaming. How many people here love to just have a few friends over, pop in a game like Modern Warfare or something online, and pass the controller around when you die? That's like a staple of gaming these days.
I still can't fathom who is going to move around a console while there's a disc spinning in the drive... or if its even on?
MGS4 was a little melodramatic but that's Metal Gear. Any fan of the series whos played any Metal Gear games knows that's its style. If you think it's ridiculous its because it is... and its meant to be.
It's cool while being kitsch, just like many things Japanese.
Udder crap or utter crap?
I think there does exist udder crap in the mystical world on hentai...
Yeah ever heard of love at first sight? how unromantic...
ahh i have that RGB thing on full and have always noticed the images look a little dark. I've got a nice HDTV Full HD Samsung, but not a top of the line model. I'll put that setting back to normal.
i have noticed though that in what we've seen so far windscreens and headlights don't crack or smash which looks kinda silly...
Then how about seeing RTS games like the Total War series come to PS3... then I'd really get involved...
shouldn't you take a 15 minute break every hour anyway (not that I do...)
EDIT: just to add my two cents... I don't like the idea of 3D. I tried it out at the store and its blurry and annyoing...
It's not worth it to me either. I don't want a bunch of minis because I'm not going to play them. I never cared what my current avatar was, and I make a point of never playing demos of games because there's nothing better than popping in a game for the first time and being amazed at how cool it is.
Yeah for serious I'd like to see something on the scale and sophistication of GT5 on the iPad.
...and it's a damn touchscreen!
I think the fact that its a tablet with a small screen size and lack of a control peripheral (unless they introduce one) will keep it at bay from threatening the traditional console market.
Also, wasn't there a story on here a few weeks ago that the iPad is not affecting the Nintendo or Sony handheld market? The people that buy an iPad are not the same people that would buy a PSP of DS.
I think he has a point about technophilia that grips us all a bit today... I'm just thinking about how dominant a role screens, phones, computers and consoles play in my life.... yikes. I'm going outside!
i disagree.
i've been playing alot of RDR online and you realise that UC2 takes the cake in terms of fluid controls and polished mechanics. Other third person shooters online aren't as good in that fashion.
Who would 'upgrade' anyway? Your essentially buying the same machine in a different plastic casing.
I'm happy with my fat one. I think they look better too.
Im with you George, GTAIV was the first HD console game I ever got and it was amazing for me. I never really got into the hype because I just didn't go on the net and read about it. I really loved GTAIV.
As long as it sees the same dedication to making quality gaming experiences that the Playstation brand is known for, then I'll be on board. But I hope it doesn't try be a jack of all trades and a master of none, with poor games or mediocre games.
The PSP, while having a lot of junk ware, does have a decent amount of high quality titles, most recently Peace Walker, which is an astounding gaming achievement for a handheld...
the kinect showing so far had been totally lame...
If you ask me it didn't look that good...
I prefer shooter games like that to not have a crosshair/tracer on screen, like time crisis with the gun on PS1
Sorry but the most anticipated game perhaps of the PS3's entire life time comes out in November...
GT5.
