It's been sad to witness their decline as a maker of hardware. They still produce quality stuff, but nothing like their heyday. I remember the days when they were unrivalled in design of their tech and the build quality was second to none. Their good, Made in Japan Walkmans, TV's etc. were streets ahead of everything else on the market.
How about we go back to the PSOne days and bring back Syphon Filter!?

I've been playing through and I'm enjoying it, but definitely could be improved in some ways. Still, here's hoping for a sequel, I really dig the setting and tone and stuff.

In the 7 or so years I've used PSN I can count on one hand the major outages they've had. Please, give us a break. It's not bad.
Meh I'd rather play new IP's and titles made for this gen, with new engines etc., than play 1080p versions of games I played 5 years ago.
I think Sony will be focused on maintaining profitability of Playstation, and won't cut until their production and distribution costs lower enough to absorb it.
Why does it need to innovate gameplay mechanics to be a good game? I happen to like third person shooters.

success in sales will ensure people make games for it. I also think their support for indies will pay off. they're the small studios of yesterday that ensured a good pipeline of games on previous systems.
also, the PS2 and PSone were plagued by shovelware - you shouldn't assume volume = quality.
Understand people aren't thrilled about it... but I don't really want to watch a 40 second loading screen on Youtube.
