The Cell was put into the PS3 to support the blu-ray player, not because it is great for gaming. If they don't ditch the Cell, sony fanboys can look forward to crappy ports, longer dev cycles,No cross game chat, no custom soundtracks, and more bitching from the dev community. Anyone backing the Cell is ignorant when it comes to game development.
They need to ditch the Cell and have a more dev friendly approach in their next console. This would produce the best results for...
It's still too early to tell if the Vita is a success or failure. Still have to work through pre-orders and fanboys. I expect the sales to plummet in a couple monthes just like they did in Japan. The Vita is too expensive to sell very good. And the whole memory card issue is crooked. Not to mention the terrible battery life and the low quality of most of its games compared to how much they cost. Give it a couple monthes then the sales will drop off.

We won't know if it's a flop until the end of the year. Gotta work through the pre-orders and early fanboys for the first couple monthes. Sales dropped dramatically in Japan after the first couple monthes. So the vote is still out for the Vita. I see it flopping in the long run though.

I highly doubt MS will invest in the handheld market. Which is fine by me. More money put towards their next console is what I want. Also I don't know of anyone EXPECTING MS to release a handheld, so this article doesn't make sense to me.

Actually ME1 was the game that had the same cut & paste levels. ME2 was way more varied in it's action levels.However the planets were cooler in ME1, because you could land on almost all of them. But the buildings were almost all the same design.
My little brother and sister recently got Kinect. I tried it out and was suprised at how cool the tech actually is. I don't want it to be the future of the industry, but I can see it being used to support certain features. The voice recognition used to search the Live database for movies and tv shows is cool as can be. It works surprisingly well too. I just hope MS can please the hardcore crowd next-gen, because I would hate to see Kinect ruin the brand for the core crowd.

We definately don't need any company dropping out. It's because of this hardcore competition that we as gamers have it so good today. I don't like sony but I don't want to see them go anywhere.
What would happen if we had a single console? I think we would see alot of games getting milked and done like COD. We need this competition to keep game makers striving for our money.
