Genuinely curious: where did Hey Poor Player say these changes were "doomed from the start"?
It's mainly a list for westerns released after 1995 as another writer on the site made a list of great westerns from before then. ;)
Quite a few consoles I never knew existed on here!
“Early on, we decided that everything Lincoln does either furthers his quest to take down the Italian mob or build up his own criminal family. So, while you can take over prostitution rackets in the city, Lincoln doesn’t have the time or desire to partake,” Blackman said.
So the game DOES depict prostitution as befits the setting – the main character just doesn't partake because it doesn't fit his character. Try reading the article before assuming things next time. ...
Will have to check it out!
Devil May Cry is one of those few big series I haven't started on yet. I really liked Bayonetta so will have to give it a go and see for myself at some point!
Haha, might have to expand it to a top 20 at some point!
Some surprising omissions! Where's JC Denton? :O
Looks really interesting and topical. Will definitely pick this up at some point!
Looks like this space program crash landed.

You know what? Fair enough. That's an interesting, well-informed, thoughtful perspective on the issue and you didn't need to resort to hyperbole or name-calling. I saw a few comments that were just so nasty, I went on a bit of a rant. If I just saw comments like the one you just made I would probably just nod my head and move on. In this case it really is just the hyperbolic way of making the argument that I dislike, even if I might be sympathetic to th...
Well it's nice to know you're not actually calling for my head! You'll forgive me for assuming the worst as what you're saying jokingly is what a great number of people are saying to games journalists seriously on a daily basis. That and far worse.
Perhaps I should have clarified "some of the comments" I suppose? Do you feel that I'm addressing you? I'm just exasperated about the conflation of "censorship" with "tweaking a ga...
The balancing on a gun isn't like collision detection or bugs though. I deliberately chose that example because it's something that people disagree about, and it's ultimately something the devs have to make a difficult judgement call on who they listen to.
Why does that matter? Am I reporting on this? I don't have the right to be a journalist because I have a personal opinion that diverges from yours? Why not explain your point of view rather than immediately declaring I don't have a right to mine?
One person's objective design flaw might be another person's well-designed mechanic. At the end of the day, it's up to developers to decide who they want to listen to. For the record, I actually agree with you that it's silly to try and control rag doll physics, I just think how people are reacting to a developer's tweaking in such hyperbolic terms is also pretty silly.

This is hilarious to read these comments. If developers change the balancing on a gun or something because of negative fan feedback, no-one bats an eyelid. If developers change some creepy-looking character models because of some fans didn't like them, people are like" "OMG CENSORSHIP! SJWS! MUH FREE SPEECH!" If you want to know what actual censorship is, try living under a dictatorship for a while. If you want to look at boobs that badly, go watch some porn. Literally no-o...
One of the most sadistic, frustrating games ever!
Do you listen to butt rock in a furry sex prison? This podcast answers that question and so many more!
I'd imagine that developers would care as they've been messed around enough having to try and adapt to Valve's often inconsistent curation policies. This announcement may be a step in the right direction, but hard-working devs deserve more clarity on some key points.
